If I could give zero stars I would. We purchased a van immediately from them after doing a lot of research. Our family was expanding and we needed a car as we had an accident with our small vehicle. Down on our luck we thought it was so nice of them to let us purchase and take the vehicle home while we waited for our small car to be repaired. We knew that the van doors were not working but they promised when we purchased the car and sign the contract that we could bring the car back whenever we wanted to get the doors fixed for free. So we filled out our contract and drove away. We got our small car back and tried to call to make an appointment to fix the doors. It took two weeks to finally get an appointment with them . When we drop the van off we assumed it would take maybe a week to fix to electronic van doors...BOY WERE WE WRONG. I was calling every other day to ask where our van was, when it was going to be completed, and we were thrown for a loop. Got a phone call after the first week saying that they did not have the right parts for the van doors. After they re-ordered the van parts and they came into the shop they realized they didn't have the right tools so again one week went by and we did not get our van back. How could a goodshop not have the proper tools to fix van doors? then we called the third week to ask what was going on and they said they sent the van to another shop but apparently could not remember the name of it . Possibly that shop have the proper tools to fix the doors but was going to charge them a lot of money they didn't want to spend. So in the middle of the third week they called again to tell me that they wanted us to return the van to get our money back because they didn't want to pay for the doors and the repair . After speaking to my husband I call them back the next day and said it was not acceptable and that we wanted the van doors fixed, we signed the contract saying that they would fix the doors after the purchase. after going back-and-forth with the sales manager and the owner of Battenkill Motors they finally decided to do right by us and fix the doors no matter the cost to them . Uh,duh!? It's a signed contract! You shouldn't ask the customer to sell it back to you because you didn't know the repair would cost that much! After a little over four weeks we were able to pick up the van. I must have called 15 times over the course of the month. You ask me they're the most poor businessman I have ever dealt with . Please take this seriously if you have a family and need a reliable vehicle . You cannot trust their word and I will never go back . Not to mention, when we got home with the vehicle there was a loud squealing in the front wheels where they claimed to have checked the brakes . My husband Ended up repairing the front brakes and the broken air conditioner that we thought was working when we purchased the van . Even under warranty my husband refused to bring it back to them because he didn't trust them to fix it right . Those of you who do purchase a vehicle from Battenkill Motors all I can say...
Read moreLate 2017 my mother got into an auto accident.. thankfully Dave and Jon were there to help in obtaining a new car which my mother loved.... fast forward to this may and my mother once again was rear ended and needed another car. Once again Dave and Jon were there.... But, this time with an added wrinkle... I had requested from Jon a car for my girls. My oldest was expected to get her drivers license in June of this year. We agreed that a VW beetle would be the perfect beginner car with a very good safety rateing. As important was it’s ability to be a starter vehicle for my other two daughters as well. So, on a Monday in June we test drove my mothers vehicle, which she loved. Jon told me he had found a Beetle for my girls and that Jeep Wrangler I had my eye on was also available... On Wednesday of that same week Dave called, took care of all my financing questions and said feel free to come in Friday for pick up. On Friday, my small klan showed up and preceded to buy 3 cars... my mother, daughters and myself all had huge smiles and continue to smile especially because of the manner in which Dave and Jon have supported...
Read moreI was recently on a mission to find a specific car. I spent a great deal of time visiting dealerships and was in communication with at least a half dozen. Originally, Battenkill did not have the car I was looking for, but I was pleasantly surprised when Dave contacted me and told me that he had found what I wanted and had already had it brought to his dealership. That's great service and initiative. Even though I had looked at that same car at many different dealerships, Battenkill offered me not only the best deal, but absolutely fantastic service. Other salesman at other dealerships tried a variety of tactics that bordered on bullying and flat out lying to get me to buy their car. At Battenkill, I was treated as if their reputation mattered a great deal to them. They were very kind, no pressure, no sly sales gimmicks. They did everything they said they would and faster than predicted. If they didn't know the answer to a question, they said so, and found out. I had an awesome experience and would recommend...
