If I could give Tops in Hamlin, NY a zero star rating, I would. As of today, I will not set foot inside it again. I have lived in Hamlin for 3 years now, and have a plethora of bad experiences with this store. I will gladly travel the extra few miles into Brockport and shop at Wegmans from now on. Tops Hamlin has a very poor produce section more times than not the selection is old and outdated and without fail they are usually out of key items when I need them. One day they had no red onions, one day they had no green onions. One day I needed fresh bulk garlic of which they had only 5 bulbs that were so out of date the cloves inside were browned and shriveled, yes, I peeled one back to check it. The young produce attendant was less than apologetic and could not be bothered to check if there was a stock in back. Ground beef was out of stock on a Sunday. The customer service is a far cry from service. I asked 3 different employees where I could find a notebook and each time was sent to the wrong isle, one young man told me "they are either in isle 10 or isle 2, I don't know" and promptly turned his back on me. Today a cashier named Christina had no qualms telling me what she was doing was far more important that attending to me, the customer standing in her line. She was rude and confrontational and all the while a manager stood by to bear witness to this altercation and said nothing. I was already upset because I needed sliced mushrooms and today's selections were old, and shriveled and damp and looked to be about 2 weeks old. I realize my lack of further patronage in this store will not affect their bottom line, but I am a member of this small community and I have a voice and I will tell everyone in my path how horrible the product and service is at Tops Hamlin and with summer coming I will suggest local farm stands and and Wegmans! Let me just add, not all area Tops are this horrible, Spencerport and Hilton Tops are beautiful and customer service is stellar! Where is Tops Hamlin go wrong? Could it be the store manger of Hamlin tops that can frequently be found sitting just outside the entrance doors enjoying a...
Read moreThis is conveniently located in Hamlin while the Wegmans is located 15-20 minutes away in Brockport. Great grocery place for those small shopping lists. Everyone I've encountered has been friendly and willing to help. They are taking the pandemic serious and have proper sanitation procedures in place. There is a cart sanitation station as you walk in and hand sanitizer stations throughout the store. You are required to wear a mask when you enter the store. I don't know if they still are but at one point they had a block of time where the seniors of the community could shop by themselves. I found this to be very thoughtful of them. The store is always clean and I would recommend shopping here if you're...
Read moreHamlin needs a better option. The shelves give you an electrical shock whenever you touch them and everything I seem to buy is expired rather it be chicken, eggs etc. better look at dates on everything before you put it in your cart but their stocking team needs to do their jobs. It's December 22nd and there are eggs that expired on November 16th on the shelf. I live around the corner so I tried to give this place a chance but I'm putting my foot down and will no longer buy food items here. I'll be doing my shopping in Brockport at Wegmans and Aldi's. Management here is rude and doesn't have customer service skills they are always out smoking. The younger staff is...
