I just had the worst experience here. After leaving work I entered this establishment to buy a case of wine. I wore a suit and had nothing but a cart, my wallet and car keys. I am an African American female and work as an attorney which is why I was wearing my suit. I didn't notice at first but an employee of the store began following me. I picked up a Champagne bottle and walked toward the Reds (red wine) where I noticed an Asian male hovering, but trying to be inconspicuous at the same time. To be sure I back tracked and noticed him come closer while trying to remain inconspicuous. Deciding not to give my money to an establishment with these practices I simply returned everything I picked up in the location where I had first removed them and put the cart back. I confronted the individual who simply smiled. I called the store to speak with the manager who simply apologized and claimed that employee was "new" but stated to him, "you were there, saw the whole thing and did nothing," which implies he approved of these practices. I have lived in Valley Stream for well over 15 years, longer than the current individuals who recently took ownership of this store and I am disgusted. I will never come back to this establishment again and will let my friends and family know of this as well.
