Lady at counter needs to be fired ASAP. Lady if your the owner, do yourself a favor and hire someone who has the opposite personality than what you have. Aside from the food, which is good, I cannot emphasize enough that customers should stay away from this established as much as possible because of the incompetent and unapologetic rudeness dished out by the workers. I had placed an order on the phone for a tray of kabobs at 1pm for pick up at 6 pm for an event I was going to. With 2 kids and a family filled car we arrived at the restaurant at 6:15pm and ask for the pick up order.. the lady said your late, you have to wait for us to make it again. I reminded her we had placed an order hours ago, she said she knows about the order but after 6pm she sold our order to another customer. I told her I left my number, why didn't she call to find out if I was running late , she then ask me "why are you late ?" I would expect I was allowed at least a 15 minute grace time on a order I placed 5 hours earlier. I understand they might have a policy to sell item if noone ever picks up an order but 1. Be a nicer to break the news to your guest 2. If there is a policy like that, call the number on the order to confirm.
This is not the first time dealing with this restaurant and the lady at the counter . But it is the last after that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst went to this place 7 years ago on my first visit to NY. Sticky floors and dreadful customer service was all I could remember. Customer service that seemed pretty consistent with most Pakistani owned eateries I seem to come across in NY anyway. Thankfully, my feet glided over the recently mopped floor this time and the lady that served me was polite.
I thought the kababs were worth another try since my wife claimed they were as good as some of the ones we could get in the UK (Bradford, Shimlas). Far from it and they only seemed to do chicken seekh kababs.
So the chicken seekh kababs were average, the chutney was basically water with a bit of mint and the naans were about the size of my hand, half the size of what I expected for $2 a naan. Surely this can't be the norm in a place like Valley Stream where there seems to be a sizeable muslim community? They deserve better.
Also, prices for everything else were covered up so I'm assuming they've had a recent price hike? Wither that or they've...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI LOVE the chicken tikka kabob! (And I always bring home an additional order) The naan is amazing! The chicken masala is also REALLY good. The most tender I have ever had (its even white meat chicken and not dry.) The rice is always spot on. The chicken biryani is also really good! These are the items on the menu I tried. I live an hour away and go at least four times a month. I donāt mind sitting down in a dive that has really good food! I think cultural differences and I suspect language barrier for peoples complaints is the issue. If youāre ever go you will see food is always flying out of there and orders being taken over the phone. Maybe if you want a smile you could walk in with a big one! As a matter of fact I just may go...
