Love Aldi's for their specialty German items (especially around the holidays), but they also carry items that can be hard to find in our area... I found masa for tamales, huge bags of Jasmine rice for about $5, falafel mix, matzo ball mix... Their meat department is much better than the big (blue) box store in town, or the other chain in Dansville, but it's all pre-packaged. Produce used to be hit or miss but has improved lately. I find the weekly produce special is typically your best bet. Their prices really are of course extremely reasonable. But the reason I shop here before going anywhere else is the staff! Each and every employee is incredibly friendly and efficient... I really hope management gives them the praise they truly deserve. They are ALWAYS so cheerful and kind. I have been shopping here for about 7 years and have yet to have anything but a great experience with the staff!!!! They're also one of the first stores to accept Samsung Pay around here. But why they replaced the shopping carts with railroad cars baffles me... you could fit a family of six AND a month's worth of groceries in them with...

(Chef's Cupboard) one eve a few days ago while preparing dinner I opened a can of their soup for a casserole I was making. Dumped can into pasta I had made. Only to see the nastiest sponge like discolored glob drop into my dish all over my noodles. I never seen anything like it. Turned can over and inspected it. The "best buy" date had expired 7 years ago. So soup was technically probably 8-9 yrs old. I sent them (corporate) email with photos and they called later only to literally say the soup couldnt be that old and the dates were wrong. I guarantee by the contents inside, it was. I saved can. How does a 7-9 yr old can continue to slip thru the cracks year after year and end up in the store. Thank God I knew better not to consume it. Lord knows how sick we would...
