Elwood Pumpkin Farm — Local services in Town of Huntington

Went there because didn't want to deal with all crowds at Schimitts. And thought it would be more of a place where locals can go. Mistake. What a ripoff. They charged me $20 for a large pumpkin..flat rate...not by the pound. When I asked the kid that was working the stand..his wise ass crack was "Well if my boss was here he would charge you more...." LOL! Really? Do I look like a tourist to you??? Also they don't grow their pumpkins...they were pulling them out big boxes that were left on the field. I get it..cheaper to buy and flip them..but can you make it more obvious for the kids?? Bunch of amateurs. It was worth maybe 12 bucks at most. Same size at Schimitts cost me that much last year. They wanted $6/adult and $4/child for a tractor ride around their tree farm...LMAO!!! Sorry..crappy tree farm. And the wanted 8 bucks for a crappy little corn maze they set-up...LMAO!!! I've live in town most of my life and always wondered about this place...and now i know. Won't be going back and steering all of my friends and neighbors away from here. They clearly they are out to take advantage! Me and my family came here in hopes of giving our toddler her first experience in cutting down a Christmas tree, which is usually an amazing tradition wirh our family. I would absolutely give zero stars if it was an option but it’s not.

Please think twice about bringing your family here!!! They are robbers !!! We looked for our tree and cut it down brought it over to go and pay and we’re greeted with the most rude and unprofessional worker! When we asked how much to pay we were told 175 dollars for maybe an 8ft tree. We were taken aback by that!!! My family usually buys 12ft trees and have never paid more than 100 dollars for one. When we questioned the price we were told ‘well that’s why you pay first , by this very rude and unprofessional ‘boss’ and then when we further questioned the price he rudely stated ‘ well it did take me 12 years to grow the tree’ and continues to be very rude in front of 5 children including my toddler where the kids were no linnet having fun. How dare you rob families especially at this time of year during one of the hardest times due to the pandemic when most families are just trying to have a fun night out.

Would give less than one star if that was an option. I took my family there to have the experience of cutting our own tree down. Something to look forward to during the pandemic. The guy in charge, or the big boss, as his employee said, must have forgotten there are still a lot of unemployed people around here. I asked questions, which are pretty normal questions when you're paying those ridiculous prices for doing all the work. Things like how much, and are they marked by height. He laughed in our faces and said, you go find a tree, come back get me, show me the tree, I will tell you the price and you pay before you cut it. $20 a foot plus tax, they only take cash. What are the chances he's actually paying the tax? Very rude and unprofessional. Either way, save yourself a trip and take your business and money to someone that will be appreciative. We ended up getting a beautiful tree from Garden World, with a Groupon!
