Sam is amazing! I was referred to Sam by a friend because I had two sentimental pieces of furniture which needed repairing and restoration. My father had a very special coffee table made out of a Spanish door that had been in my family since I was a child, along with an antique secretary desk, also in my family for many years. Both had been damaged and were in disrepair. Sam not only beautifully and lovingly repaired the secretary desk, he improved it so that it could be functional to hold the weight of my laptop computer. I can now write at the desk that had been in my family for so many years. The coffee table was huge, extremely heavy and the legs had broken off. Since I am a woman and I didn't have the space for such a large piece, Sam lovingly redesigned the table, decreasing its size, weight and height, yet keeping the most important elements of the Spanish door which it had originally been. It turned out to be perfect for me, and I have a new piece of furniture which carries on the integrity of my father's original coffee table which I have known since my youth. My experience with Sam was nothing short of positively amazing! We were desperate to have my husbands childhood kitchen dining room chairs restored and reupholstered. They are very sentimental pieces so it was of the utmost importance to find someone who would lovingly bring them back to life. To say Sam was a dream come true, would simply be an understatement. I met him for the first time and he exuded such genuine warmth, integrity and undeniable knowledge. Throughout the process of restoration, he sent me daily updates and pictures of his progress. It was clear how much he enjoys his craft as his updates always conveyed such optimism and excitement. In this day and age, it is quite uncommon to meet someone who takes such pride in their work but Sam is by all means the exception. Sam sold me a beautiful magnifying glass with a mother of pearl handle for my former employer back in 2014, I think ...maybe early 2015! Funny ... I was just reminiscing about that Monday night, and mentioned his shop, and the story of my purchase to my housemate, who had just returned from a trek to Long Island - - - then his card turned up today as I was going through a handbag.
