Deli 51 Broadway, Greenlawn, 11740 — Restaurant in Town of Huntington

I would have given Deli 51 no stars but you can’t do that. First of all, not only did they not honor my Deli 51 gift card from previous owners (which I had no idea about that), but the counter person also told me that they had to keep my card!! I then told my coworkers about that situation and they told me that since the new owner took over they haven’t been back. They feel that the quality of their food has gone down and that the prices have been jacked up. So if you want an overpriced sandwich from some teens with an attitude then this is the place for you!!

• Update * To the owner (Martin) who I spoke to on the phone before my review, you surely didn’t seem to care about my issues with the gift cards being honored. You told me that it’s been 2 years and now you say it’s 3? Get your story straight!! And when I was on the phone with you, you were NOT interested in accommodating me and dismissed me. So stop being phony and pretending like you care or that you’re a good...

The deli looks great and very clean, the everything that I have ordered has been cooked quickly, as ordered, and fresh. There is a ton of people working there and the grill has a dedicated worker. I really want to like this place. I really struggle with the pricing structure. I'll speak to the current breakfast special. It's a BEC on a roll with a small coffee at $7. I can understand the no substitutions, but no add-ons or upcharges? I can't get a large coffee for the difference in the price from small to large? I can't get double cheese for a price that helps you keep your margins? a BEC with a small coffee is $7 but with a large is $12 its bonkers and it stops me from going there more often. Don't tell me it's because of inflation, it's a sloppy answer that is...

Hate to give this place 3 stars because the food is quite delicious. But mainly I'm giving 3 stars because after getting a 13$+ sandwich I asked to have a few extra toppings, black olive slices, Jalapeno's, and cucumbers. Without being told that that they would cost extra, the sandwich came out to over 17+ dollars, and then I was told that the toppings totalled 2.50$.

You shouldn't charge people extra for toppings that cost virtually nothing extra to add. Now if I asked for bacon or avocado or extra meat/cheese, then I would understand, but 2.50$ for the toppings I just mentioned is beyond pretentious..
