**UPDATE: The woman on the phone who hung up on us twice finally got back on the phone. I demanded the owner's name. She said it is Gary. Earlier she had told us she processed a refund on the money they should not have charged until we were getting a delivery... I called my bank who said they have no such refund in the pipeline. I asked her, did you actually refund it like you said or not? She said I was abusing her. I said, I'm asking a question. You stated you refunded us. Our bank is saying they don't see it and yet you refuse to answer. So, then she admitted she lied again and did NOT in fact refund the amount. This is almost unbelievable to be witnessing as a customer. She then hung up on me again when I asked when the owner would be calling me back.
TERRIBLE customer service. After using this company for three years, where the phone reps do from time to time have a snarky tone, but ultimately the product was good so we figured it didn't matter... this year, we ordered two weeks ago and they said they could get it to us today, 12/21. We scheduled it. They charged us. They call us this morning and say we can't get there until Monday because ONE of our trucks broke down. I said normally it would be fine but Monday my husband is having surgery, so we won't be home. We need it stacked in the garage, so someone has to be here for it. She offers NO apology, no extenuating circumstance of let me see if I can get it to you today with a truck that is working, etc. She just gives me a tough, deal with it, attitude. I explain that is not customer service. Try and make it right or offer Tuesday delivery? We don't deliver on Christmas Eve. Well, then have your employees stay later to make one extra delivery today. Do SOMETHING. She then tells me with an attitude that she didn't charge me yet, WHEN SHE DID IN FACT CHARGE US and then corrects herself realizing yes, you did charge us which is not the policy. The policy is to charge right before a delivered, finished product. So, when I ask when we will see the refund, she tells us I have no idea, how am I supposed to know and hangs up the phone. My husband attempted to call back requesting to speak to the owner and she refused to answer and hung up again. If she was proud of her behavior toward a customer she wouldn't be hiding behind her cell phone screening calls and hanging up on customers but she is terrified the owner will find out how she is actually treating people.
TO THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY: I will ensure you hear what took place today, just days before Christmas, to go back on an order that you took weeks back and not try and accommodate a repeat customer is not right but the attitude exhibited by your employee is abhorrent and I think the owner should know who is representing this company...
Read moreThis year I had difficulty finding seasoned wood for my fireplace. I found LI Wood Heat online. I called and spoke to a very nice woman who explained that the wood is Kiln Dried Hardwoods, which essentially means it's dry wood with no bugs. It was much more expensive then the wood I bought iin prior years but I tried it and purchased a face cord. I cringed a little at the price but bit my lip and got out the wrench to open my wallet. I have to say that I am pleased with the outcome. The delivery was on time. The driver very personable and for an extra charge he stacked it very nicely for me. The wood is contained in heavy plastic wrap which makes everything so clean and neat and so easy to Carry into the house. I just grab a bag and bring it inside with no dirt to follow. Cut open the top of the bag and when your done throw it out so that any wood and dust stays in the bag. The wood is super easy to light and generates alot of heat. It does burn a little faster, because it's dry but I also feel it's a hotter fire and less work to keep it going. Next year I will buy from them again. If you have the extra money to spend try it, it changed my mind. For those asking, I do not know anyone or have any deal with anyone from LI Wood Heat. I just took the time to write this review because I thought I have something to say to those people who are on the fence about spending more for kiln dried wood. I would recommend...
Read moreIn short: very nice people, but they dented my truck's tonneau cover and smashed fishing gear that was on the back. Long version: I went there to pick up 4 bags of wood that I intended to load myself. I drove my F-150 Limited I only use for fishing, it is my pleasure car. Not the construction vehicle by any means :-) The truck door and the gate was closed while I went to the office to order and pay for the wood. I got out with the pink slip that I was supposed to hand to someone to get my wood, to my surprise I noticed my truck with the gate open and the wood already loaded, or rather pushed in. I flipped, because I had fishing gear there that I intended to rearrange before I load the wood, not to mention that whoever loaded teh bags did not even bother to open the tonneau cover (the hard kind) and the bags were just forced in. So when I got home and unloaded the truck, I noticed bunch of dents and scratches on the cover, on the flatbed, and some of my fishing gear (glasses, floats) broken to pieces. Not the best experience. I called the office and they were very nice, explained that the worker who loaded the wood meant well, he was not supposed to open my car without me present and that they probably rushed as they were about to go for lunch. Baseline is, if you have nice car, better call them to have the wood delivered, or bring someone with you to stay with the car while you make...
