Thrifty Deli — Restaurant in Town of Islip

Great food, good prices, I just wish the food prep was quicker. Never had an issue with the quality of the food or the order being incorrect. Just a bit annoyed at the time it takes.

I ordered three sandwiches to go on a Tuesday at 3:50 over the phone. The nice lady said it would be ready in 10 to 15 minutes so I told her I'll just take the walk over there to pick it up. It was a 9-minute walk so I decided to go in to let them know that I was there and I figured it would take another 5 or 10 minutes, so no big deal. It wasn't particularly crowded but they handled the orders from the people who ordered in store before they made mine. They close for the day at 5:00 p.m. I was given my three sandwiches at 4:59 and walked back to an empty office with three sandwiches, for what was supposed to be a very late lunch before the end of day.

Again, me and the two other coworkers ate the sandwiches the next day which was fine, but it really shouldn't take an hour and 10 minutes to make three sandwiches when I told the girl I'll walk over and I'll even give them a few extra minutes.

Thrifty Deli in Ronkonkoma has the best food I’ve ever had. They have a great variety of specials daily and everything I’ve ever had there has been delicious. The catering is amazing. The prices are reasonable and the staff are always extremely helpful and polite. One of my favorite things there is their potato salad.
