Look, I know that I am different looking that probably a majority of the cats that might walk through the door, especially when I just got off of work and I have my chill duds on. Sure, I am not wearing izods or yuppie get up and I suspect this is why my experience is not what it could be. That being said, I got a real cold vibe here. My service would be what I would describe is Stepford Wives. I felt that the service staff were cold, robotic and distant and to be honest, when dining alone is the last thing you want from a wait staff. I did like that the staff were very cooperative and used a team concept but friendliness (at least for me) was not on the menu. I noticed that it seemed like they just wanted me to order and get out, perhaps assuming that I would be a cheap table. Note: Every customer who walks through the door is deserving of your best service, even if they are not what you would think is your bread and butter. Service started with a Johnny rocks, I found the pour healthy. I was deposited a menu with little fanfare, no specials, no soup of the day, which I had to request (for soup, I had no idea there were specials) and the wait staff dutifully returned to collect my order. I ordered Carpaccio with arugula and veal parmigiana. Shortly after I was presented curtly with a bread basket and a small plate with some bruchetta toast, olives and chunks of parmigiana cheese. All were delicious, the parmigiana was excellent. Shortly after I was perfunctorily presented with my carpaccio. The plate had the beef underneath a huge pile of arugula with parm slivers on top and a vinaigrette. I was offered indifferently fresh pepper which I accepted. Two mechanical screws of the grinder later, off he went. It is a shame that the beef, which should be the star of the show was buried beneath the greens, we eat with the eyes as well as the mouth but I will say that it was tasty. After a short while my veal was delivered and the waiter asked me if I would like parm on my pasta. After saying yes the waiter dipped into the bowl, filled a spoonful of cheese, plunked it onto my pasta, exclaimed "enjoy" and bolted. At this point I am thinking the experience is almost surreal. I had in mind a glass of vino but I was never asked and before I could request, he was gone. Shortly after another waiter arrived to ask my how my meal was. I said so far so good but would like wine. He asked glass or bottle, I said bottle and he rattled off the list rapid fire and I ordered pino noir. Three minutes later the waiter dropped off my wine to my table without a word. I found the veal portions generous, albeit the veal was a bit bland for my taste. The pasta sauce was very tasty and TBH the star of the plate. Now, too this point I am figuring maybe this is a training thing and maybe they want their staff to act this way, but when the same waiter was sat with a new table and the patrons had that upper crust look, the waiter spent a good five minutes going over the MANY specials and soups of the day, all with vigor and personality, I felt a little cheated. Like sniff my armpits cheated. I was offered my check mechanically and given a small fruit plate when I declined dessert, flashing memories of a dessert presentation I observed for another table as I was just sat. I guess they just didn't like me. Sigh. I still left 20% lol, rise above...

Last night, they gave my order to one of the Co workers. I had veal, he had chicken. They had messed up the pasta, and when they got to me, they realized they gave him veal. He had taken 2 bites of it already, it was a healthy sized portion, as were the other 3 at our table. While he is going to take his second bite, they take his plate from him, and bring it back to the kitchen. They come back out after putting the correct pasta on the plate with the chicken parm, and tell me that mine will be out in 2 minutes. When it arrives, 2 minutes later, the plate is much smaller, and the veal is drowning in sauce with cheese covering the edge. I move the cheese and see it had been cut after cooking, the breading was missing on one side. It was then, that I knew what they had done. Cut off the third that my coworker had started cutting from, covered it with sauce and cheese, and sent it back out. I sent it back saying it was cold, but the waiter knew that I knew. 25 minutes later a new order appears, with a full size veal, generous portion of pasta. By then, all of my coworkers were done eating. I told the waiter to box it, as I'm not going to be the only one eating at the table and holding everyone up. They returned with it bagged, and offered free coffees and fresh fruit. The entire group was just ready to end the experience. At the hotel, I tossed the meal into the trash, and ordered food from elsewhere. If they were serving a already eaten meal, who knows or wants to trust what they'd do to your food when you called them out on it. which is a shame, as the food looked tasty. The fried calamari appetizer was...
Read moreThis isn't a place to go if you're looking for a quick meal. This place is an experience and I mean that in the most positive way possible. We went on a Tuesday and it was not very crowded but don't let that decieve you into not staying. We entered the restaurant and got sat immediately. We ordered appetizers and drinks and it came out fairly quickly. They also brought bruschetta and regular bread and butter. The carpaccio is good if you enjoy that and we got a mussels special. The menu is quite diverse and I'm not sure if its just for the day but they had so many specials. 2 in our group got the fish special, 1 got the veal chops, I got the gnocchi in a gorgonzola sauce (super cheesy and creamy so again I reccomend it). The waiter said it will take a while so we were expecting to wait a long time but it came out fairly quickly all things considered. So we ate, and then the waiter brought over a tray of all the deserts they have. We got some deserts and coffee and after dinner drinks. So you may be wondering why I said don't come here if your in a rush. We went there around 6 and all of a sudden it was 8:30. It was truly a great experience and I...
