United States Postal Service — Local services in Town of Kinderhook

Since staffing changes in November this office has really gone down hill. Mail delivery times are inconsistent and multiple times I have gone 4+ days without mail and have had to go to the office to pick it up. The carriers routinely use my driveway as a turnaround, drive up my 3 car length driveway to deliver a package under 10 pounds, leave packages directly in front of the door so I can't open it, or cream packages slightly too big for the mailbox into the box so that they get bent. I have called and spoken to the post master multiple times and she only gives excuses about the poor performance. She has even said that carriers are allowed to drive in driveways since it is a rural route. I told her that we are not rural. My neighborhood has appx 100 houses, we are connected to village water and sewer, and can walk on sidewalks directly to the office 1 mile away. On top of this, I have had packages marked for delivery and at the Valatie post office, only to have them out back on a truck to a processing center just to have them actually delivered days and up to a week later. And at least once a month I have to redeliver mail and packages for my neighbors that they leave at my house. Luckily I've never had packages go completely missing, but how much mail have I not received because it was given to the wrong address? The staff that work in the office are also incredibly rude and talk to you like you're slime for even thinking of using their services.
