Emkay Dry Cleaners & Coin — Local services in Town of Kinderhook

Just fully moved up to Hudson, looking for a good dry cleaner. Out of the three actually in Hudson, Em Kay in Valatie had the better of the reviews - not great but better. I dropped off two pillow cases, one with blood stains on it, was told they could clean it out no problem. Went to pick up said pillow cases - blood still there. Found out the person “checking” the items in hadn’t passed along there was blood. Lady checking me out looked for the symbol that dry cleaners use when they communicate “we couldn’t get this out” - there was none. Pulled actual dry cleaning man over to ask him about it - oh sorry didn’t see it “I guess it just didn’t come out.” Best part of this story - THEY PRESSED THE PILLOW CASES! So yay! Thanks for not only not doing your job - but taking the time to set that stain right in there. Why was I dry cleaning pillow cases? I saved up and got this fancy bed set I had really wanted. Did I choke a little when each pillow case was $4 to dry clean? Oooooh yeah. Am I flipping furious that not only was the above the outcome - BUT THEY MADE ME PAY FOR MY NOW RUINED PILLOW CASES? You bet. Do not take the chance and take your stuff here. They don’t know what they’re doing - oh and have an easy out of “Not responsible for messed up clothing” - which you’ll have to also pay for us messing up. Just don’t...

I dont want to rate this place as a 1 star..I have to. I have been using this laundromat my whole life. I'm 60 years old. They still have the original dryers that ran on a dime and under the long folding area are the original agitating machines. We have been told for MANY years changes are coming, new seating, new machines, TV and internet but only broken promises. Last time I was there I counted 16 washing machines out of order. There were none for me to use so had to drive to another laundromat in the area. The prices are crazy and many times I paid for hot water and there wasn't any. The wall paper and decor is original from when I was a child and needs major work. Its sad to see a gold mine not noticed. If this place got the fix up it needs...it would be a gold mine to a great community. But now we must travel to another county and do our laundry and I find that...

I brought in pants, shirt and sport coat to be cleaned on a Monday. They told me they would be ready on Thursday. I explained that I needed them for a wake on Wednesday and if they could not accomplish that I would bring them to another cleaner. They assured me that they would be ready on Wednesday. When my son went to pick up the cloths they were not ready. One ticket had Wednesday on it and the other had Thursday on it. The older gentleman at the counter told him they were not supposed to be ready until Thursday and he doesn’t know what to tell him. No apology, just “well I don’t know what to tell you”.
