Ben and Gracie's Thrift Shop — Local services in Town of La Grange

I love Ben & Gracie's on Route 55. I have been going their for almost 2 years. A Very clean and well organized used clothing store. I find the array of clothes like brand new items with original tags still on them to ethic style asian/Indian clothes that were handmade in India and others countries to brand name items all for decent prices. The quality of their items is very high and in almost brand new condition. I like how the store is organized by size and style but also by color. I like how this store is set up like a boutique. Ada the sales clerk is very nice and helpful. If I ask her to give me an honest opinion of how something looks she will tell me. She just doesn't want to sell something. I hadn't been there since the summer over 6 months ago when I recently visited. I had to do a super fast visit due to a time constraint and I was able to walk out very happy with 2 pairs of jeans(designer labels), 3 blouses and a night gown(land's end)all for $41. I don't care about the label on the item. I'm just pointing out what kind of items you get for the money. My friend found a very nice jacket for $12. I highly recommend this store! Recently I've had an issue there because for some reason they're not letting people trying on clothing. Everybody else is allowing people to try on clothing. And people have allowed people to try clothes. For some reason all of a sudden they're not allowing people to try on clothing. I will not buy clothes there anymore if they're not going to allow me to try on clothes first. And just in this past 6 months I've spent over $150 there. So if there policy doesn't come back to allowing trying on clothes they're going to lose...

I've been to this thrift shop a number of times, and I like it. It's small, so there's not a huge selection, but the prices are unbeatable and they're usually good about accepting donations as well if you have things to give away. I would call to double check the hours before you go because they operate on their own schedule sometimes. And I did see someone's review say that they feel like they're being watched when they look around, and I must say that I don't disagree with that. Not the worst situation, but an improved customer service experience would make my 4-star review...

Very cute thrift store with a thoughtfully curated variety of clothes in excellent condition. Clean and well organized, you don't have to sift through racks of subpar items to find something decent. Just a heads up, as of the last time I visited, their dressing rooms were closed. Although I believe you can return items with the receipt and the tag still on. Prices vary on items, might be at most a few dollars more than some other thrift stores but still very affordable and worth it in my opinion. Also doesn't smell like thrift store in...
