From a truck driver's point of view this place is terrible. I got here 30 minutes before my 5am appointment and was assigned a door by the security guard. I thought things were going alright until I got to the door and found a trailer dropped in it. I parked across from the building and went to check in. I waited in line fifteen minutes for that. When I alerted the receiver about the trailer in my door, he seemed unconcerned and said they should have it moved by the time I brought the lumper payment in. I went out, got a COMCHECK came back in and then waited over thirty minutes in a different line (only 5 drivers ahead of me) to give another guy my payment. I informed him about the trailer in my door and he said it should be gone by then... it wasn't. I went back in to tell the first guy that the trailer was still in my door. He barely acknowledged me and told to wait until their yard driver moved the trailer and then back in. It was nearly two hours past my appointment time before I was able to back into the door. To top it off, they won't come let you know when you're empty. You're supposed to sit and watch and wait until your dock light turns green, then wait thirty more minutes and come in and get your paperwork. The green light on my dock doesn't work so this should be interesting.
In short, it seems that to these people, drivers are only an inconvenience that must be begrudgingly tolerated. Over the last 21 years I've found this to be typical for C&S Wholesale at other locations and I have added this one to my list of places I will never deliver to again. There's too many good places to deliver to and too few trucks for me to subject myself to this kind of disrespect...
Read moreOvernight parking available. You do need to walk into the guard shack and have temp taken and fill out COVID info. I walked in an hour before my appointment and was assigned a door. You will also receive a phone call with dock information. The woman working was pleasant and helpful. You do need to slide tandems to the back, open doors, and unhook the trailer at this facility. After getting into the dock have your safety vest and mask to go to receiving office. There is a restroom, vending and a waiting area for drivers. You do pay for unloading here. They give you the amount at check in and call you after unloading to bring it in and pay. After unloading fee is paid you wait for a call for your paperwork to be finished. There is a file system on the wall in the driver’s waiting area where your paperwork is. It did take an hour for my paperwork. I was expecting to be much longer with all the negative comments. I was in the dock for 2 1/2 hours. 1/2 hour of that was before my scheduled appointment time. They do look in your trailer on the way out and check your paperwork if you have additional freight. Everyone was pleasant and it was overall better...
Read moreDrivers you will be here forever. The lumpers break down each pallet, count and sort product. I brought in Blue Buffalo dog food from Pittson,Pennsylvania and was in dock for 10 hours. When I finally pulled out, I had about 25 pounds of dry dog food strewn all over the length of entire trailer floor along with 5 pallets of dog food that they didn't take because they said it was overages. I had no hours to operate on clock so at least I did pull across from docks and parked. But, now roughly 10 hours later I'm still sitting here waiting for the broker to figure out what to do with the overages so this is turning into a 24 hour ordeal or close to it. My dispatcher already has to cancel a good run to Indianapolis and as we all know TIME IS MONEY! By the way, the lumper fee was 340dollars so bring your wallet full of dough if you decide to...
