One of the great and unique places to experience in Wisconsin. The current Spring Retreat program is a wonderful get away and so relaxing (I went last fall also). Much attention to safety Covid-wise. Great people on staff and the food is locally sourced and excellent. I think of it as gourmet comfort food with plenty of fresh fruit and veg. My room was cozy and the bed comfortable. Beautiful surroundings and nature trails over looking Green Bay. I've taken many classes over the years and loved every one of them. Sounds like they have found a way to have classes this summer and keep the students and staff safe. Excellent value for the $. Closed to the public during the week but visitors can explore it on weekend afternoons. Great bookstore and gift shop, too but only open on weekdays right now. The Clearing is an incredible and serene get away from the everyday busyness of life. These beautiful grounds offer dozens of classes and workshop options throughout the year, either weeklong or three day workshops emphasizing a variety of hobbies and crafts. My husband and I took a three day forging course and cannot stress enough how much we enjoyed this experience at The Clearing. The staff is friendly, and the outside teacher for the course we had was beyond knowledgeable and helpful in learning this new skill. The grounds are beautiful, and seem to transport you to a different world with the slightly Hobbit-esque style of the main campus and buildings. In the hustle and bustle of Door County Wisconsin, tucked away in wooded acreage you will find The Clearing Folk School. Students can attend weeklong, weekend, or one day classes throughout the year. This beautiful setting offers a multitude of classes in many different subjects. From music to art, literature, photography, nature opportunities, crafts too many to list and new classes being added every year there is something for everyone. Lodging is available on campus and the food is incredible. I go almost every year. You can see what is available when the campus is open to the public on Saturday and Sunday for tours from 1- 4 PM.
