This dealership did everything right! The short version is that I was impressed from start to finish and I'd recommend this dealership to anyone.
I was purchasing from well out of state so almost everything was done over the phone. Cole was my salesperson and he was great! The car took about 6 weeks to arrive after putting down the deposit which was a little faster than expected.
Cole kept me updated on the status of the car throughout. Once it arrived he even took the front license plate mount out of the car to avoid anyone from the service department from attaching it and messing up the front bumper! He made sure all the paperwork was ready to go and we did the bulk of it via e-signing. I only spent about 20 minutes in the dealership itself which was great because I had a 1200 mile drive home. Thanks again Cole!
The financing department was very easy to work with. I shopped loans beforehand, but Basil Toyota was able to get a rate which was very competitive to what I was going to get from a credit union. I highly recommend doing financing through their dealership, it made the process incredibly easy! They handle the registration and sales tax even if you're out of state. I got my plates in the mail only 2 weeks after purchasing without having to step foot in a local tag agency.
One other thing that impressed me was that throughout the whole process no one tried to upsell me on anything, convince me to buy service plans, warranties, etc. Even when I said I was going to go with outside financing all they asked was for the rate and credit union so they could try to match it (which they did). There were no surprises on the final invoice and no hidden upcharges.
Overall it was just an outstanding experience. The only thing I could possibly knock this dealership on is the $5K dealer markup, but even that was reasonable for the car I purchased. Nearby dealerships were asking $10K+ which made going with Basil Toyota well worth it. An easy 5...
Read moreService at this place is a absolute joke was told when I bought the car from there I get 2 free inspections and oil changes already got my first one and waited there 4 4 5 hours I go this just to use up my last free one. I have a Silverado so I stopped at Chevy to get the oil filter so there’s not cheap junk on there I get there and I’m told you only get one so I said okay let’s just do it it’s a half hour drive mines as well. I had specific instructions don’t put stickers on the windshield because it’s tinted and make sure to you my acdelco filter and Jamie the service advisor noted it on the r.o. Now I wait they weren’t to bad on time but when I walk up to the front she was trying to be slick and walked away with the acdelco box now I did see it and I was like maybe the tech just brought the box up to show her he used it but no she tried to be sneaky and hide it and didn’t say nothing now I had a weird feeling the truck was sluggish driving weird so when I got home I looked under the truck and they put a NAPA filter on it and it was leaking oil the whole way home. So I called and spoke to specifically Jamie and I told her who I was and I said to her they didn’t put my filter on and it’s leaking oil and she played stupid like she didn’t know and acted like it was an inconvenience for her. The assistant service manager up front could care less wouldn’t even look at me and I said we gotta do something about this and most she could do is give a free oil change I wont go for service ever again and got them on my dash cam running there mouths like it’s my fault that he missed the filter even tho its stated on r.o place is absolute joke for service won’t step foot back there advisor was Jamie and cant remember assistant managers name but man place ain’t...
Read moreStill disappointed with the approach by the Service Rep writing up the service and just the approach (last visit I was not pleased and told it would improve). Came in for an oil change and was informed that I still needed a brake job and tires, as informed from my last visit. The Service Rep also noted the brake fluid still needed changing which I stated that was news to me as no one ever told me that?? I also had a screw replaced the last time and was informed I needed that work done, so I'm not sure how things got recorded/not recorded. That said I get a text message an hour in, no note from the Service Rep and I view it with no sound. Somehow I'm supposed to interpret it, so 15 minutes later I speak to the Rep and ask about it - answer, I have no clue, I didn't watch it. Nothing like the cold shoulder treatment. Same guy greets a new customer warmly, friendly, and I go back to wait. I see my truck after an hour, and I pick my things up and walk up front again. No response back from the rep. I utilize the restroom, come back and he tells me your paperwork is on the desk I'm by and the keys in the truck. All things are listed on the bill for me to look at and of course the screw that was fixed and I told him the last time is still there for work to be done. Meanwhile, another local Toyota dealer, warmly greets my wife for an oil change and rotation on her Toyota, is done in 40 minutes "with a car wash," and of course with warm greetings and good byes. I just shake my head... the work is fine, (a little long) but could I just be treated with at least an I care about you as a customer from their...
