The Brute Golf Course at Grand Geneva — Local services in Town of Lyons

Overall, great course and great staff. The Brut is well known and does not disappoint. Here is the beware part of this review: do not hit out of the bunkers or you risk your club being damaged. There are significant sized rocks throughout the bunkers and with the way the bunkers are laid with sand, many are hidden. Twice I hit significant hidden rocks that took out chunks in my 60 deg. When I finished the round, went into the Pro Shop. Unfortunately a rude staff member states right away...nothing I can do but will alert the grounds crew. I placed the rock down on the desk...asked if this was an appropriate rock to be hidden in bunkers, to which she replied...nothing I can do. There seems to not be a concern about players clubs and potentially issue with injury. I can see the potential for golfers to jam up their wrists, etc. It is a shame this is how the round ended as this course besides this incident and lack of concern, is a great...

Incredible golf experience. Friendly and attentive staff. Swift and easy check in, top notch practice areas. Food and beverage staff (Roxanne and bev cart I think Michelle??) were outstanding. The golf course was in amazing shape. Kyle Nash and his ground crew make this place a real gem. Hands down, best and smoothest cart paths I've ever been on. The scenery was spectacular and we completed our round in 4 hours on a beautiful sunny late May Sunday. This golf course is full strength. You will not shoot an easy round here. If you love a challenging course, as I do, you must play here. Cannot say enough good things about...

The course was excellent as always!!! Sterling met us before our tee time with a huge smile and very welcoming! Ryan the director of golf came out and welcomed us as well!! We're all in our 60s and 70s and Sterling suggested we asked the starter to put the carts in senior mode so we could get a little closer to the greens! Great help! I wish I remembered the starters name but he said he's 78 years old and yes it wouldn't be a problem! Wish I could give 10 stars!!!!!!
