Stopped, I did, on my journey home from the distant lands of upstate New York. Thirst and hunger gnawed at me like the dark side’s temptations, so into the convenience store I ventured. Well-stocked, it was. Prices? As expected for a place along the great hyperspace lanes of the interstate.
The restrooms—clean they were, a welcome sight for any weary traveler. Refreshing, their state was, much like the stillness before a duel.
Sustenance, I sought. The choices before me: Chick-fil-A (closed, for Sunday it is), Shake Shack, Auntie Anne’s, and the temple of liquid energy—Starbucks. A solid selection, though limited it may feel to some.
Beyond, I sensed power—electric chargers, standing ready for those who ride the energy waves rather than fuel’s embrace. A fuel station, too, for those who still rely on the old ways.
A serviceable stop, this is. Satisfied, I left, the Force of the road...
Read moreStopped by for a bite to eat. Earlier power outage prevented the restaurants from having food to serve. Picked up a prepackaged salad from the store. Got in the car opened the salad... no plastic ware supplied. I went back into the store to get some & they didn't have any, clerk said "there should be one in it". (Well YEAH) but there's not... The only restaurant that would have some was closed. Obviously couldn't return because it was open. There's nothing like picking a salad a part to eat in...
