Food was made fairly quick and looked mostly fresh. Average of $25 for a burger fry and shake. Also there are constantly long lines for food at this travel plaza. The fries served were Luke warm after sitting under a heat lamp for 15 minutes. Also they refused to put ketchup and mustard on your burger. You are forced to add your own condiments via packets. The cheese sauce was luke warm and tasted like it was out of a can. Next time I will rather spend the additional time at Chick-fil-A and get a better value for the money I spend. It wasn’t bad food just not impressed for the amount I spent to something that wasn’t better than McDonalds. On a positive note, the vanilla shake was great and creamy as it was made from frozen custard. The portions of fries were generous. The sitting area was ample in size, comfortable seating and clean. The staff were great to greet each customer with a smile. They did an awesome job for being obviously understaffed. Overall the value of my meal being in NY and at a service plaza should have been $12-$15 but not more. Also the Shake Shack needs to offer combos or some time of value when purchasing a burger, fry and shake. Overall I can not recommend them due to lack of value for food, the lukewarm temperature of food(served food in temperature danger zone), not putting basic condiments on your burger, and there are competitors with better options for way less in the same...

After getting our food I had mistakenly thought the “shroom burger” was a chicken sandwich because I had never been. After going up to the counter, telling them, and then offering to bring it back for them to see and make sure I was right, they told me to just throw it out and they’ll make a the correct one for me. I just wanted to eat so I didn’t throw it away right away. After we’re almost done the manager comes out and informs me that I’ll have to pay for the second shroom burger. Confused I said that it’s a chicken and she said “no sir, that’s a shroom. You need to pay for the second one” and then something about inventory. I tried explaining the situation and what one of her employees said, but she wasn’t having it. So I was made to pay for something I didn’t eat nor want. If I really wanted to try and get something for free, I wouldn’t have stayed right in plane view and I would’ve gone to McDonald’s instead where at least the burgers taste better and...

If I could give this 0 stars I would. Twice now we have stopped to get shakes and were told they couldn’t make them. The first time the machine was down (within the first week of opening). The second time we waited for 15 minutes for them to open. Staff waited until after 1030am to open on a busy Sunday. After waiting, we started our order and were immediately told that they couldn’t make shakes because they were short staffed. The employee (Ashley), shrugged her shoulders and then screamed to the rest of the line ‘we don’t have shakes today because we only have three people working. If you’re going to pitch a fit, get out of line.’

Your customer service is absolutely atrocious. For a new business starting on the NYS thruway, you should be...

It was a long wait in line and for food. If it's worth it would depend on your feeling. My personal opinion is yes, however this is my first time ever having shake shack so that was a large part of the justification. I tried the hamburger and shake which were of course absolutely delicious. I also had the shroom Burger which was surprisingly amazing, I think I would actually get that over the regular hamburger next time. I also really like the French fries, I normally do not like crinkle cut fries however these were so crispy and wonderful. A little bit pricey but not stupid ridiculous. However I would recommend you sit down to eat your sandwich, as it is kind of messy and difficult to eat while driving (a bit of a strange thing for a rest stop, lol ).

The burgers are great, very tasty. They are also pretty expensive. We spent the equivalent of $90 CDN for a family of four for 4 Shack Burgers, 3 fries (one with cheese) and 3 drinks (2 shakes, and one Orange Creamsicle drink). A visit to Shake Shack is pretty irregular for us, so it's worth the splurge. The Black & White shake I had was delicious. Being a rest station on the NY Thruway, there is plenty of seating and the building itself was recently updated so good location.
