Hudson Valley Writers Center — Local services in Town of Mount Pleasant

Dedicated to advancing the craft of writing in the lower Hudson area on many levels. I've taken several poetry workshops, e.g., one from Patricia Smith a few years back, who is the recent winner of a $100,000 poetry prize and a four time National Poetry Slam champion.

Other faculty have included prominent artists such as nationally known performance artist, Karen Finley. So this caliber of faculty.

My most frequent use of the Center is to attend the monthly third Friday of the month Open Mic readings which are unfailingly a most welcome box of chocolates...

Hello. In September 2019, me and my mother knocked at your door. We saw a group of good people sitting at a table. We just came from the train station and we were not sure were we where (we were looking for the cemetery, looking for Washington Irving's grave). We asked for the restrooms, and tried not to interrupt your meeting.
