Taste NY Market at the Capital Region Welcome Center — Local services in Town of New Baltimore

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience here today November 04, 2023... The customer service is terrible in the tasteNY, because if you buy a baked product you expect it to warn, my husband and I bought some bake goods and they delivered them cold, I had not left the store and I asked the guy who works in the store if he can warn up the food for me. And he told me that he will not touch the bag of products that he already sold and they will not heat it by order of the FDA. That has never happened to me anywhere else, I will never buy anything here again which is sad because I really like the capital region rest area but I rather go somewhere else where I can find a more friendly place to stop and get...

The state has done a good job improving certain rest stops and this is one of them. It highlights some of the things that one can do in the local area, the bathrooms were clean and stocked. There is also a place you could get a bite to eat, it was really simple stuff like soups, sandwiches, beverages and other gift shop items for sale so I didn't get any, but it was nice that the option was there. The also had interactive screens you could learn about the state, lots of brochures and to top it all off the photos of the playground outside are really neat since they show the musical instruments they have placed throughout the playground area amidst the slides and rock wall. Amazing little local market with New York mix of locals in one place. It's a brand new center. Clean restrooms and a nice place for the kids to play. It's a great play area! The selection of food was small but diverse. Many cheeses from local dairy farms. A good bakery too! It was easy off 87 north and easy back in 87 north.
