North Shore University. Hospital staff are friendly, knowledgeable and care about the patients who enter the hospital. My experience was with Pre Surgical Testing. I like how they cared for my father, who is elderly. Everyone from the the person who did the pre surgical questions at the admissions to all the nurse's who supported my father through the pre-surgical testing were kind and very professional. My father was seen as a human being and they treated him as such. Each person that approached my father identified themselves and their title and how they would be providing him assistance through the process. At one point, there were as many as 3 people in the room at once, however, they were respectful of each other and coordinated my father's care so well, that at no time did anyone person's presence feel overwhelming. Three nurse's assisted with the pre-surgical testing. One who completed the overall medical history and exam, one who gave patient instructions on the days leading up to and the day of surgery and one who did bloodwork. Each one respectful, courteous and knowledgeable. The testing room was clean, organized, as well as, the space allowed for the patient to have additional support in the room if needed. When a patient arrives at pre-surgical testing it's safe to assume that they are preparing for surgery or a medical procedure. The Care and Concern given at North Shore University Hospital Pre Surgical Testing helps to ease some of the fears that a patient may have prior to going through a medical...

My husband was admitted to the hospital for doing a biopsy liver and also they found a small kind of tumor located around the liver and they needed urgently to test it weather its a cancer. My hubby look very good condition except his face and eyes visibly yellowing. It was referring by the other doctor and wanted my husband to do it immediately. However, my hubby already stayed in the hospital for 4 days and nothing yet to be done. And no head no tail ? Everyday he was juz like having his vacation there. The nurse will come in juz a quick check for his blood pressure and ask him for breakfast, lunch and dinner order. Therefore, i dont think the really care about my hubby condition at all. When my hubby clarified with them when exactly the test gonna take they said it might next thursday or later. So what the hell is that? If you arent ready then why he needs to be there and spending few thousand dollar for all these nonsense things? Juz for eating and enjoying your stupid hospital...

Wait to see a triage nurse, then wait to be called in to see a doctor. Which was the average 3 hr wait. I was called and escorted to the back area. They place you on a stretcher, and you wait to be seen. I was surprised at how fast the doctor came over. It was only a 5-10min wait. I didn't expect that at all. I can't remember the doctors name, but he was also assisted by PA Stankard , They were down to earth, and I felt comfortable with the care. I don't usually go to emergency rooms, you never know what kind of service you're going to run into. But I have to say I was so impressed at the service and attentiveness by the physician. He came to check on me 3x. The nurses as well were friendly. I felt like they cared. I hope I never have to go back into an e r. Again, but if I do, I would go...
