This establishment does not even deserve a one STAR! Below is the email I just wrote to Pump It Up at Great Neck for the ordeal I went through today at their location:
This afternoon 11/5/13 1:45p.m. I took my two children to your Great Neck, NY location. At the entrance, I put in my children's information, paid the fee and received the bracelets for the children. After paying the fee, I decided to go back to my car to drop off my bag. When I returned with my children, the three cashiers stopped us from entering and accused me of not paying. It took me 1-2 minutes maximum to go back to my car and come back. I explained this to the cashier (there were three young female cashiers) and she claimed that she did not recognize me and continued to accuse me that I did not pay! I have never been so insulted and treated like a criminal by these young kids that you employ. The cashier asked to see a receipt, which I never received. I explained that to them that they didnt give me a receipt, and again they kept claiming that I did not pay. Even if I give them the benefit of the doubt and that they really didnt remember me in the 1-2minutes that passed, they didnt even have the brains to reason that I obviously paid them and therefore I listed my children's information and received bracelets from them. I even showed them the change I received from them. The length that I had to go through to explain and show proof should have been completely unnecessary and the humiliation I endured from your employees... for what? going to your establishment and paying my money and have them accuse me that way? unbelieveable. I also asked them to check their camera. I assume that an establishment such as yours would have a surveillance camera to make sure your employees are not pocketing the money.
After 30 minutes of yelling, with exasperation, your employees told me to just go in. If it wasnt for my children, I would have called the cops and reported your establishment. Because I paid and since your employees are denying that I paid I would have reported your employees as theives for taking my money. I cannot fathom why you would not have a camera. And also, I mentioned that your employees did not give me a receipt and they kept claiming that if I paid then I would have a receipt. Well, when I did finally go in and asked other mothers that were present, half of the people said that they also didnt receive a receipt!!!!! So clearly, there is something wrong with your employees. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO YOUR ESTABLISHMENT. and I will also tell anyone who listens what a crappy, unprofessional establishment you run. I hope that this would never happen again. and also, you have a significant amount of Asian customers and your employees are very condescending towards them,...
Read moreI had my child's birthday party here yesterday. It started off at the wrong foot. First we get in the arena 15 minutes late because the party ahead of us were still there. My party should start at 2:50pm. And they didn't even told us they were running behind. I have to ask them why it's keeping too long to be called. I told them that they should give my allotted 2 hours and not cut my time. The coordinator assembled the kids at 3pm. When we got to the first arena 3:05pm, the party ahead of us were still there. This is already 15 minutes late for my allowed time. I told Chris (the arena supervisor) they should not cut my time because they are running behind. I spoke to my party hotess,Lina about it too. She said added 5 minutes to first arena and additional 5 minutes to the second arena to make up the time for calling us late. Then when we were at the party room, 4:10pm I was told cake time already. My party should be finished by 4:50pm but because they got us in late my allotted time should be 3-5. The manager Tiffany walked in 4:15pm telling me in front of my guests that we only have 5 more minutes. Giving me attitude and look. I asked her why we are doing the cake now if my guest just started to eat and I have 40minutes left for my allotted time. She raised her voice while talking to me right in front of my guests..kids and adults. She said she can't do anything and it's not their fault that we started late...which is by the way their fault 100% because they are running behind. We were in the location at 2:40pm which is 10 minutes before my party should be starting. I felt so embarrassed and humiliated. She didn't even pull me aside and talk to me. After the party, I went to the front to pay and saw Tiffany again. I asked her, why you are asking my party to leave when I have so much time to do the cake. She admitted she got confused with the time thinking I was the 2:15 slot and I should be done by 4:15. I told her you raise your voice at me in front of my guest at her mistake. She didn't even apologize. I have to ask her should she be saying sorry. The manager should be the representative of the company. In this situation the manager is a disaster and was so proud of herself. Not only she does not handle the situation correctly but was disrespectful to a paying costumer. I did not paid a thousand dollars to be humiliated. She ruined the happy event that was moving smoothly until she showed up in front of my guest raising her voice. I heard this is not the first time it happened and she did the same thing before.
4 stars to the ladies that help me set up the party. Thank you.
To the owner of this location, do something because if it will just it go she will not learn. You will not have a returning clients...
Read moreWould not recommend this place. Had my sons birthday party here. They requested that everyone arrive 15 minutes early to fill out the waivers. My entire party was there early, and they wound up taking us back 10 minutes late. You would think that would mean they would give us an extra 10 minutes. Nope. They kicked us out at the end of the party. While we were packing up, they were rudely throwing things away around us saying we had to leave. If we paid for 2 hours, I want 2 hours.....that was completely unfair. Also, the bubbles...what a joke - I couldn't even tell there were bubbles in the room. Don't bother paying extra for the bubbles. Once they opened up the party room, the attendant was no where to be found and the kids and parents were trying to figure out where to sit. Once all the kids came in, the attendant appeared out of the closet and told the kids to eat their pizza. The attendant then disappeared. The kids were done with their pizza and began to get up and play with their balloons and I had to search for someone to ask when the character visit and cake and pinata were all happening, because the kids were wild after pizza with nothing to do, yet we paid for all of this stuff for them to do. It seemed they forgot about the character visit, because she said "oh, you have a character visit? hold on". I went out to speak to the front desk and they told me the character was getting changed. When it was time for the pinata they literally did it in 20 seconds no joke - they said ok everyone pull a string at the same time and pick up the candy - it was so poorly done. The floor was sticky and gross....I was so skeeved by this room, as were so many of the parents. I had more than 25 kids, and the place reassured me that they would adjust the number of items in the room to the amount of people that I had - well, they never did, so I only had 25 balloons. I had to go to the front desk and ask for another balloon for the 26th child. Also, my package included cotton candy and no one ever got any cotton candy. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that until I got home. I am incredibly disappointed in this place, and even more disappointed that I tipped $100 for...
