I wonder if these reviews stating “friendly” were written by family members to bump the ratings. 0 stars for the service, 5 stars for the amazing store. I needed a second airlock and some more screw on caps for my batch of blueberry wine. Not wanting to wait the 2 days from amazon I figured I would explore the American Homesteader store I had seen and heard about. While the store is beautiful and the type of store I could spend hours and hundreds of dollars in, I was made to feel so uncomfortable that I spent $4 and rushed out the door. I almost handed my basket to the man following me around the store and left. I was hoping to look at cast iron pans and the amish made furniture, but the man following less than arm's length away was creeping me out so bad. Following me from one isle to the other, staring like I was going to try to stick a fermenter down my pants or something. The woman behind the counter barely acknowledged my presence, not a smile, not eye contact, nothing. Again, a beautiful store with many items I would have loved to have brought home, but I felt guilty paying the minuscule $4 I did.
