Let me preface this review, I previously rated Annutto's 5 stars in the past and genuinely want to support local businesses.I shopped at Annutto's regularly since moving to the area in 2018. I rarely post negative reviews, but after my last couple visits to Annutto's I will not be back.
This place has declined severely over the last couple years. Service used to be great, now the people working there are arrogant and rude. I'm willing to pay a little more for higher quality and local products, but they charge 25-50% more than other local shops and stands for the same products.
The last time I was there I bought a 1/2 peck of peaches, when I got home 4 that had been hidden on the bottom were molded and the hamburger buns were also moldy. Not only that, while I was there I wanted to buy a loaf of bread that had been labeled with 2 stickers saying $3.99 (just like all the other loaves on the shelf). When I went to check out the cashier said "this is supposed to be $7.50 as she pealed both price stickers off it". I said "OK, but they are all labeled $3.99 just so you know." Dripping with attitude she just said "well, I'm telling you it's $7.50, so I guess you don't want it." At that point given the attitude, I did not. I have never left a local shop feeling so ripped off, talked down too, and generally disappointed.
Both my wife and I turned to eachother baffled after we left because it was hard to believe that a shop we used to love and shop weekly pre-pandemic had devolved so terribly. Needless to say, I will not be back and I would suggest you avoid Annutto's in favor of any of the other farm stand/local stores in the area.
Accessibility: 0/5 (very narrow aisles, impossible to navigate with assistive equipment) Price: 0/5 (way over priced compared to other local shops and stands) Service: 0/5 (rude, arrogant, and seem bothered by having your business) Quality: 3/5 (the local products are great, albeit overpriced, but expect moldy or expired product, especially fruit or vegetables sold in quarts or pre-bagged, to be mixed in where you won't see it until...
Read moreAnnutto's is an excellent place to get locally sourced fruits and vegetables, incredible cheese products, and though I have not had any experience with the plants, they always look full and healthy - they also have an extensive line of gardening products.
The homemade deli foods are second to none - both the potato and cucumber salads are my favorites!
If you're looking for knowledgeable staff, you can't go wrong with Debbie and the staff here - whether you are looking for information about the enormous variety of produce, how best to grow the plants you have, cheese (I love cheese), or any of the other items in the huge inventory of the store, this is the place...
Read moreWe were there in middle of afternoon, very quiet. Customers can park anywhere around building. Still has good selection of veggie starters, including seed potatoes & onion sets inside. A few perennials, mostly annuals. Different types of soils & additives & pellets for stoves around perimeter of building. Fresh produce & local dairy & meat inside. Excellent choice of jams & preserves. Thorough selection of garden tools & smaller packages of soil additives. Fresh cookies & cantaloupe samples were delicious. Very well...
