I really let this settle in before I decided to move forward with this review, I've never set out to hurt someone's lively hood. My wife purchased a gold men's bracelet for me, it was $2,000, the owner told her multiple times how he designed the bracelet and it was one of a kind. Within 2 weeks the bracelet broke, it's got a design that is very fragile, she brought it in to repair and he wanted to chg her 60.00 to do it, she was quite taken back, after some back and forth he agreed to repair it , but made it very clear he was doing her a favor, after 1 week, it broke again, now please understand I'm not out in some physically demanding job, I'm easy on my belongings and thus thing just again came loose, we took it back to him, he now wanted 90.00 dollars for the same repair he quoted 60.00 2 weeks prior, my wife said no way, she took it to a reputable jewler in Bellmore, the told her that they would repair it at no charge but said that this will continue to happen due to its very delicate design, there opinion was that a bracelet should not be designed like this and maybe it was safer to return it for something different. She went back to Rontal, explained that she was afraid it would just happen again, which it actually came apart in a different spot while getting repaired in Bellmore. He Said to look and pick something else, she did that, it was priced at the same 2,000 dollars, he told her he would give her $1,000 back for the original bracelet, she was completely floored, his explanation was that he could only give her scrap price for the return, she said your not going to melt this down, you went into a half hour speech on how you designed this pc. And how it was one of a kind, you boasted about your design talents, now your saying your going to scrap it?? So this guy wanted to take back a 2,000 dollar bracelet for a 1,000 dollar loss, then chg her an addtyl 2,000 for tbe new bracelet...that's 3,000 dollars out of pocket, the odasiity to say he's scrapping his designer piece !! THATS JUST WRONG IN MY BOOK. We have taken this bracelet to yet another reputable jeweler that is very well known for custom work, he immediately said, 1st it's not one of a kind, 2nd it's not a design that will hold up on a wrist, he stated that this will eventually get lost because it will come apart, when told what went on with Rontal, he agreed that it was extremely disheartening to hear of such poor customer service and was in amazement of the proposal of charging my wife yet an additional 1,000 dollars on top of exchanging the bracelet, he fixed the bracelet at no chg. Added the advice of probably not a good idea to wear it. I went a step further, and asked if I sold it to him, what would be the scrap price, he weighed it, offered $1350 !!!!, I was flabbergasted, 350.00 more the Rontal did !!! BUYER BEWARE, I WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH HIM EVER AGAIN, I WILL LET ANYONE I KNOW TO NEVER WALK INTO THIS STORE AND NEVER TRUST THIS LOCAL MERCHANT. I'm a strong believer of doing business with the small local businesses, well some stay in business due to great reputation, service, and fairness, others stay open due to horrible business tactics, I'm sure you must know my feelings by know of how I feel this guy is still around. SHAME ON YOU RONTAL JEWLERS!!!! 1st repair 2 weeks later, 2nd time in store within 3 month's, last time @ 7 month's later to try and rectify the problem ( bracelet sat on my desk all that time) No other business trashed you, we never stated who you were, and the difference in gold prices is possible, but the higher quote was the same week you offered less I wish you well, and...

I felt the need to write this review for what some might think is an usual reason. Despite the fact that this jewelry store is fully stocked with an amazing selection of high-end luxury pieces, what I have gone there for in the years I have patronized this store is at the other end of the spectrum. What I have generally gone there for are relatively inexpensive items and watch batteries and sizing. What I have been most impressed with, and the reason for this posting, is that the husband and wife that own and run this shop are two of the warmest most caring and sincere people one would ever want to do business with. Unlike what one might expect, and certainly has been known to occur elsewhere, despite the fact that I am generally not making large purchases, I have never been treated with any less courtesy or afforded any less time that I saw extended to any other customer. I have found them extremely knowledgeable and informative and where there were choices involved, I have come to trust their suggestions and expertise. They have never steered me wrong. If you are looking for a place to go for a special gift I can think of no place better to shop. As I believe many have found out, the department store jewelry departments with their inflated original prices and fictitious discounts are in my mind no match for the straight - forward credible approach of these people. It is a family owned store & let me tell you this; they treat EVERYONE LIKE FAMILY! Dali's custom designs are amazing & truly show her creative genius. And Ben's workmanship cannot be beat whether it's one of Dali''s custom designs, a repair, or anything with watches. All you have to do is walk into the store once & they will never forget your name after meeting you nor will they forget what pieces you admired or what repair you had done. They have become my only jeweler & I have sent countless friends & family to them because aside from everything I already mentioned, they are honest, trustworthy, loyal, & sincere. And they will give you the BEST price on anything you buy or anything you sell. I have had the pleasure of taking many of my friends children to them for engagement rings & wedding bands & all of these couples loved everything they purchased.
