Stop & Shop — Local services in Town of Oyster Bay

Disappointing store......I live in the area and there isn't another supermarket nearby so I go to this Stop and Shop for convenience. I've lived in the area for 3 years and every single time I go, there's multiple items on my shopping list that I can't purchase because they're out; the soup I'm looking for one time, toothpaste the next time, paper towels the next time, vitamins, pasta...... I can't remember a time that I was able to go food shopping and get everything on my list. Then I have to run to Rite Aid or Christina's down the street to try and find what I couldn't at Stop and Shop. Who wants to go to 2 or 3 stores? Also, their produce is less that stellar....lettuce goes bad within a few days. Once I bought 2 avacados and cut them open that night and they were both rotten. This doesn't happen at all stores. Lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers should stay fresh throughout the week. And since the pandemic hit, it's even worse! They're consistently out of wipes (I've seen them twice in the past 7 months). I know that people are inconsiderate and hoard (the last time I went, a woman took tons of wipes, sprays etc) but they should have better or quicker re-stocking. I've tried going at different times- weekdays, weekends, morning, night and I've yet to find the prime time to catch the shelves stocked. They also have a limited variety of things like shampoo, lotion, deoderants etc compared to other stores. I've gone to Shop Rite the last few weeks and they have superior produce and their cleaning aisle is stocked. The pros about Stop and Shop is their parking is less of a hassle than other places and most of the employees seem nice and helpful but geez....please do something about re-stocking...

This is the worst Stop and Shop I have ever been too. The parking lot is difficult to navigate, is strewn with garbage and discarded, broken shopping carts.

In a parking lot that is short on space, the management of this store decided that it made sense to block ten spaces in order to allocate them to shoppers who order online and want their purchase brought to the car. Isn’t that great! The problem is that they did this when the 2021 pandemic was almost over. Now those precious spots sit unused making it difficult for everyone to find a spot.

The store is small and space is limited. Routinely we see large empty spaces on store shelves. This is not due to lack of goods as other Stop and Shops in the area are fully stocked. This Stop and Shop is so Mia-managed that they accept mediocrity. Example: 5pm on any night, the produce area is ravaged by the days shopping resulting in no stock for things as basic as packaged lettuce or salad. Basic things people would want to pick up on their way home from work. Also, in a store short on space, a 15 foot wide Raspberry and Blackberry display is probably not the greatest use of space. No offense to the berries.

Terrible store, very poor in store and regional management. It just seems the corporate office has decided that this store is not worth their time. It must not generate enough revenue for them to care.

Always running out of stock of sale items before 3pm. This store has gone downhill for the past few years now, managers do try to accommodate as best as they can. As of mid Oct of 24, store has been remodeled and seems to be doing better, but it still feels like it's forgotten store of the area, one great thing is that one of the managers from many years ago is back and is on top of everything. Since the last review, the store has gotten better than what it was, although still running out of certain items But Overall it is a whole lot better, customer service has improved the most. UPDATE: The last few days of July and I still found the same problem with some of the sale items, even though it's late Sunday afternoon they should have ordered more of this one particular item, I was told they are getting more in on Wednesday or Thursday, if true the sale Ends on Thursday night. I'm sure they are going to be giving out a ton of rainchecks and run out of it again.
