Hannaford — Local services in Town of Pawling

You have a woman at your service desk in the Rt. 22 Pawling, NY store that is a real asset to your company. She goes above and beyond what most service people do in other stores. Her name was is Rachelle I did not get her last name but she's probably the only Rachelle there. Very sweet and friendly, she spent over an hour trying to get the new app Hannafords on my smart phone. It turned out I had a previous rewards account that is still on file and it wouldn't let me change to the new rewards program. So I am unable to goin you new rewards program. This is not right all customers should be able to be compensated the same. My money is no different than others. What about people without smart phone mostly Seniors with simple flip phones and no home computers there singled out also. Not good for business. Sence you move out of the Carmel store it's out of my way to still shop at Hannafords but thing like excluding me from the rewards program make me wonder...

Been going to the store in Pawling for at least 10 years. 1 of the "products" I use there is Western Union at the Customer Service Desk. When I was there this past week, I filled out the form to send money out of state. I was asked if I knew that Hannafords, as of Feb. 7, will no longer offer this service. I replied that, No I did not know this and asked why. The answer I got back was 3 part. #1, There is a lot of training involved, #2, it's time consuming and #3, (and probably the main reason) Hannafords makes no money from it. Have to say, I went there for the convenience and I really like deli counter. However, IF I go to Conn., I can send money using Western Union from the grocery stores there and it's cheaper. So, as long as I'm already at 1 grocery store, why would I turn around and drive out of my way back to Hannafords? Just for the deli? I...

Fairly average in terms of your “chain supermarket,” however it is nice to see a store that is consistently clean with clear marketing.

While giving hints of its fellow locations, this Hannaford still feels “small.” The layout is a tad off putting with cleaning products and industrial items smacked into the middle of your standard food aisles. I also felt like both the organic and hot food sections left little to be desired.

Prices here are generally better than most local competitors like Acme or Stop n Shop, to name a few. The associates were kind enough and it’s generally easy to find what you need and shop quickly.

While it’s not my favorite supermarket around, the location is convenient. I have a slight grievance with not being able to turn left outside of the plaza itself, but in a rural community, Hannaford’s serves...
