We placed an order on the KFC app on 8/17 for a 16pc chicken meal at 3:45. Yes, I know that is a large order so it may take some extra time. However, we were notified by the KFC app that the order was ready a little before 4pm. My husband arrived a few minutes past 4. Nothing was ready. They hadn’t even started cooking our order yet because there were 3 people ahead of him waiting there too for their orders. My husband waited 45mins for the order. It took them an hour, from start to finish for 1 order. My husband had worked all day and had to wait 45mins for an order that said it was ready per the app. I contacted KFC via app chat and they said they would have someone follow up from the store. Once he got the chicken home, the food was soggy (was supposed to be extra crispy). Seems like the chicken was not drained well of oil. We tried to lay the chicken on paper towels, but the breading was falling off because it was so soggy. Disappointing since we had a house of guests waiting all this time for food which was almost inedible. I figured I would bring it up when I got a call from a Manager. Today I got a phone call from the Manager who was apparently on vacation while this occurred. She apologized for the inconvenience. She offered a 6pc meal as compensation. As I tried to explain why this was not acceptable, the Manager got huffy and said she already told me that she spoke with the staff and offered me the 6pc meal and that was all she was going to do. I told her that it took 1hr from start to finish after she just explained it should only take at the most 25mins when cooking from scratch. She made a remark saying “oh so now it’s 1 hr” (I assume because I told her he waited for 45mins but she was not considering the 15mins that we waited after placing the order on the app). I asked for a discount or refund on our order and she stated that since I used the app, that is not possible. From the Manager’s own mouth: the app says it’s ready automatically after a period of acceptable time. It doesn’t have any interaction with the store so when it says your food is ready, it’s a lie. She then said that since her offer was not acceptable that she would forward my complaint the owner. She had an attitude and treated me like I was wasting her time and making up stories. Renovating the building will hardly do any good if the staff is utterly incompetent. I have no major criticism of the food. I often come here when I have workers at the house and I bring in lunch for them, but usually KFC is not my personal favorite. I wondered why, at the peak lunch hour today, I was the only person in line. My order was badly mismanaged and it took a very long time to get it right, but not a single car pulled in behind me. Why? Well, now I know why: the service is a disaster. I repeated my order twice to assure the clerk at the drive in understood what I wanted: 8 dark pieces, family order with green beans and mashed potatoes, extra crispy. I asked for 4 plates and corn bread and several times repeated that I wanted extra side orders of potato and beans. She read it back to me and had it wrong. I repeated twice again. I pulled up to the pick-up/cashier and she handed me a bag. Just to be certain, I asked if I had the extra side orders. No, the cashier said. I got a 8-piece special, no extra side orders, and instead of getting the side orders right I had mac&cheese, which I hate and never ordered. Plus they did not give me plates and the 8 pieces were not dark meat. The cashier apologized and said "I did not take your order." She stated that I got the special to "save me money." I responded and said, "That does not help me if I don't bring home enough food." She charged me $11.87 for the extra side orders over on top of the $21.63 I already paid ( Oct. 22, tickets 1830 and 2890.) It took a really long time and I was frustrated at the level of incompetence. From now on , I will do anything possible to avoid this restaurant. Not only was the manager the worse I've ever seen. But scares me that God allows someone like that to exist. She refused to do her job. Laughed at me when I told her I could loose my job if she does not cancel the order. She needs to be fired immediately. I'm almost thinking about suing for company fraud. And making a suggestion to the police department that this woman Cleary is a criminal. I am reporting her to the company as well. And hoping that they leave how horrible she is on her work record.
