We go to this event annually. We love the scenic drive and fall foliage. The drive alone sets the mode. We actually stopped the mad cattle drive to the BIG E for this event. I am happy to say 12 years later we don't miss anything about the other stop and go drive.
Bring a camera there is so much eye candy. Three Hundred plus juried vendors. Nothing mass produced or done on some assembly line overseas.
Anything and everything from sheep, goats, llamas, alpacas you might imagine is on display. Wool, skins, rugs, clothing, animals, sheep herding display. All original and unique.
Tickets are reasonable too and can be purchased online to avoid the lines checking in. There is a food court and is it mouthwatering. Yes, there will be lines and nobody seems to mind. But to avoid that, we bring our own food so we have more time to wonder around.

Very long lines for food trucks. Main downside: way, WAY too many people. Esp. on Saturday: it’s extremely crowded and hot. Sometimes you can’t even enter a vendor’s booth for the crowds. This fair has gotten too big and too crowded. I recommend extending it one day, so it’s a three-day festival; the vendors and attendees would be much better served, and it would be a much better...
