Tried to leave this full review on their website but they have character cut off and you cant leave another one. This needs to be seen. I am not some crazy person. I worked in spas for years and now I am in a great deal of physical pain! Please there are better spas out there for your money.
I do not like to leave bad reviews at all. But as I now sit here in pain I feel it’s my ethical duty to do so. I am very disappointed. Especially at a place that is higher end and charges higher end prices. Firstly lets talk about the nail area in the spa itself. Yes it was clean and disinfected but there was almost zero stock. Both colors I picked out from the CND line were on their last leg as most of the bottles on the wall were too. When I asked where the winter collection was the tech was under the impression that the fall collection was the winter collection. It’s not. The winter collection was released in October. The fall collection was released in August. She had the toughest time finding nail thinner because no one restocked the pedi cart (I was the first appt - that should have been done the previous night at closing). In regards to the soak in the tub not only was it not fully dissolved it was supposed to be the color white. When I’m getting a pedicure I don’t want to see the water getting murky from exfoliation and cleaning. That’s disgusting. Also where are the individual toe separators? Why did I leave with weaved tissue between my toes? Secondly the nail tech needs to be retrained. I haven’t had a pedicure since the beginning of November so my toe nails were long and because of an old injury I get an ingrown in the same spot when it’s time for care. I made the tech fully aware of where it was and she worked on the opposite side of the nail. I am in a great more deal of pain now because she ripped my side wall away from my nail bed that was still attached and then dug in there with her nippers. Where was her rasp? You NEVER dig into the side wall with nippers. Now my toe is inflamed, it hurts to wear closed toe shoes or socks and the area that had the ingrown was not touched. My toe nails themselves were cut and filed at an angle so now they’re crooked, my cuticles were flooded with polish and the clean up job was half done, I got the worst foot massage (only focused in the middle of the foot for a minute on each foot with the pressure so light it was more ticklish than anything), and now I’m worried that the polish I chose had been compromised because she used Dazzle Dry instead of CND top coat. I didn’t want Dazzle Dry. At all. I asked if they had the CND top coat she said yes but that she said Dazzle Dry was better. I understand that it takes less time to dry but faster is not always better. CND has gel like properties that make the polish last longer and look smoother and cure more to the nail when exposed to UV light (i.e the sun when you wear flip flops). I should also state that I came in with CND Vinylux on my toes and she was having a hard time removing it because she thought it was gel. It wasn’t. It was a good application of an excellent polish line that I wanted on my toes when I was at Haven this previous day. Overall I’m baffled at this entire experience. Sincerely, a nail tech and esthetician that came in for relaxation and realized she missed her home that she moved 300...
Read moreI've gone many times. The actual people that provide the service are not the reason for my rating. once I made an appt. for a mani and pedi on a Friday for a wedding that evening. They couldn't find me on the computer. They asked if I made a mistake and booked for N.Y.C. spa! I said, no. Their response was we are very busy I don't know how we'll get you in. I responded you will get me in this is your mistake! They did manage it but, acted like they were doing me a favor! Another appt. recently booked a hot stone massage for my husband and myself also along with a manicure. Once again, I was told, we don't have you down for a manicure. I expressed that I did in deed book for it. They said they were busy and couldn't do it but could squeeze me in for a polish change or to down grade to a regular pedicure. Reluctantly I down graded but told them how disappointed I was. I expressed to them that I should be compensated for their mistake and informed them of my prior experience. She gave me a 10% discount. Big whoop! I am a self employed owner operator of a salon. This was a gift certificate given to me. I would never treat my customers in such a aloof manner and would have complimented them with the service free of charge. I recommend that you confirm at least 3 or 4 times at the time of booking and get the name of the person booking your service. I intend to use the balance of my certificate on purchasing a product. Also, im glad I down graded on the pedicure hot stone.... not worth the money at all. It's maybe an added 3 min massage and...
Read moreI shared a review on their page and they did not post it. I’m upset. My massage was never finished. I wanted a deep tissue massage and I got just a basic massage. They charged my credit card without my consent. I even told them if they were charging me I had a gift card. I was also told not to worry about the massage that the next one would be on them. The owner said that she would only give me a 10% off next massage! What!!! Really. I paid for a deep tissue- First- I was never given a deep tissue 2nd- my massage was never finished. I’m really upset. I’m not new there. I cannot believe this is how I’m treated. I was told different things- Told not to worry about the massage payment for the service that wasn’t finished after I was told they were going to charge me this time and not the next. I told them not to charge my card also- I told them I had a gift card. That’s when I was told “you know what, don’t worry about it. I’m not charging you.” I was told I would be called shortly. Never got a call. Next day, I called- said I would be called back- no call- then told I was going to be called by the owner- NOPE! Never called me!!!!! Is this how you treat your returning...
