If i could give negative stars to this joke of a brewery I would. We made a reservation weeks ago for a party bus for my birthday with a guy named matt. We told him our plan where we were going first and he had zero issue. Never once did he say âyou canât go to other breweries or have beers on your party busâ. Yesterday we showed up and right away this guy Matt walks onto our bus (which is unheard of) and starts saying âuh what are you guys doing hereâ âyou donât have a reservationâ âit smells like substancesâ. Which were all bizarre and complete lies. We told matt we made a reservation with him then he says âoh yeah...well you canât come you guys have beers on the busâ. He kept making up new excuses. Our group was at riverhead cider house and greenport brewery before coming to you and had ZERO issues. After leaving your terrible brewery we went back to green port brewery and had ZERO issues again. People on our bus went to your brewery with a bigger rowdy group a week ago and no one ever came on there bus or said ANYTHING to them. I will be telling everyone i know to NEVER waste time or money coming here. Your rebutle of saying the staff decides if people are over intoxicated is a lie. Matt immediately had an issue when getting on our bus without even talking to anyone. So there is no way he âdecidedâ within 2 seconds of getting on the bus the group wasnât âokayâ. Our bus driver was even astonished how rude and bizarre matt acted, he had never seen anyone from a brewery act the way he did. We were treated excellent at riverhead cider house and green port brewery. We were welcomed in with open arms. After leaving your terrible brewery we went back to green port brewery to enjoy another hour of there great band and atmosphere. Clearly matt had a predisposed idea of our group and made a decision based on something other then being âover-intoxicatedâ. If you would like to check with tapped enterprises, riverhead cider house or green port brewery about all the information in this review you surely can. Everything i am saying is the true story and they would be able to...
Read moreI'd give zero if possible! The new owners are offering us 2 free beers against our $150 gift card which was purchased in December 2024. Would love to see the sale/purchase agreement for this transfer! Who dropped the ball? Who walked away with all the money sold for those gift cards? The lack of transparency when selling gift cards knowing that you are in the process of selling a business, and the new owners not honoring those gift cards is just plain shameful!
When a business on Long Island is sold, the new owner generally inherits the liability of outstanding gift cards sold by the previous owner. This means the new business owner is obligated to honor those gift cards, as they represent prepaid services or products.
The sale agreement should ideally address how these outstanding gift cards are handled, potentially involving a credit to the new owner or an adjustment to the purchase price to account for the liability.
Gift cards are considered a liability for the business because they represent future obligations to provide goods or services.
When a business is sold, these liabilities typically transfer to the new owner.
The outstanding gift card balance can affect the business's valuation, as it represents a future expense for the new owner.
The purchase agreement should clearly outline how gift cards are handled. This may involve the seller providing a credit to the buyer to offset the liability, or the purchase price being adjusted accordingly.
New York State law does not allow gift cards to have expiration dates, meaning they must be honored by the new owner.
The seller should have accurate records of gift card sales to ensure a smooth transition and proper valuation.
In other words, all of us holding those gift cards that the new owners are now claiming are worthless, are holding expensive pieces of toilet paper!
Shame on the sellers and on the purchasers for not taking these gift cards...
Read moreVisited Jamesport yesterday with a reserved bus and area from 1:30PM - 3:30PM ($400 to reserve the area.) Man, will I never do that again.
My party showed up and they happily accepted my money and my friends. We took care of their staff and was told we were âwelcome to move around the tasting room grounds as they like.â This was not the full case. While we were allowed to leave the VIP area we paid for, they would not permit us to purchase drinks outside the VIP area.
After our timeslot was up at 3:30, we had planned to move into the general public area but Jamesport had other plans for us and asked us to leave completely because they claimed our bus could not stay on premise. They could not get their stories straight. They then claimed they had to ask us to leave due to a situation due to excessive intoxication. We had a guest who got sick on spot and we immediately sent them back to our bus and continued on with the rest of our afternoon. No scenes were caused. Ashley, the tasting room manager and reservation coordinator was at first very accommodating and welcoming and accepting of our money until it was good for her. She told us to âfind a brewery that suits our needs.â We did that exactly and went elsewhere with more respect than we received from Jamesport Brewery staff. When I was expressing my frustration at the next place, the bartender stated that the same thing happened to another group a separate time apart from ours. Beware of this scam they are running if you are driving a distance to visit with a large group. We will not...
