Dollar General — Local services in Town of Saint Johnsville

On Saturday 5th of July, 2025 I was there about 8:30pm. As far as I could tell it was just the one woman and Mr. Kranky pants that were on. I was there to pick up a package but not there and picked up 3 items and wanted to check out. Mr. Kranky pants ( tall skinny guy), not doing anything, calls the woman to come do register. She takes awhile to get there but I am sure it is because she was in the middle of doing some work. As for him, he was just lollygagging around in his regular one slow speed mode. He, mopely, came back to the register a couple of minutes later and then mopely walked away again. I guess the lady had to do ALL the work. A couple came up behind me to cash out. The lady said something but I couldn't really hear her. I think I heard the word mad and thought she meant the lady was mad, in which I would totally understand since she was busy and he could have done it himself. If she was referring to me getting mad, well then, I am glad I couldn't hear her fully because, I was upset with the guy for not cashing me out with my 3 items and making me wait for a woman who was busy doing other work and so that would have just been...

Generally when I go there now, I have no issues. Mariah is helpful and professional. The young gentleman that was on when I was there which was a few minutes after 5pm today, 8-10-2022, is never friendly but that doesn't bother me. What bothers me is that he acts like it's a bother to do anything simple in addition to what he does. Actually not even additional. Today, I asked him if he could please put the 409 and wd40 in a separate bag from any of my groceries just in case one leaks, and so he pulled items out of one bag and tossed them in the other bags. Tossed can in with my bread and I didn't realize and he squashed the bread. Saw him toss the can in a bag but didn't realize with what as I saw that he wasn't happy at all. 1/3rd can't be used for sandwiches but not going to bother to get back in my car and drive back for...

Dollar General was a good convenience store in the middle of a small town. It is also next to a ice cream shop and is just a great place to stop by and grab some necessities.
