Schroon Lake Department Store — Local services in Town of Schroon

This weekend was our first time to visit this adorable town. We stayed at the amazing Scaroon Manor campground. The weather wasn’t ideal but the view was. We wanted to sit under our tent and enjoy the view. Thought a small table would make our evening even better so we headed to Schroon Lake department store. Oh my goodness, what an amazing find. So many beautiful souvenirs , gifts and camping needs to discover. As we walked around the store with our pup we were greeted by the owners who spoiled him with a treat and asked us if we were looking for anything in particular. We told him we were looking for a small camping table. He showed us what he had and apologized that not all his inventory was in yet. He didn’t have quite what we were looking for but that was ok. We each found a sweatshirt and a tee to memorialize our time here. As we continued to shop the owner came back and offered us his own table from his basement!! What customer service!!! We were blown away by his kindness but didn’t accept the gift as it wasn’t necessity. As we worked our way to the cash register our pup found the dog toy section, he picked out the perfect toy for his size The owners were so excited to take him picture for their new pet wall they are creating. The whole family walked away feeling like we had made friends that day and bragged about the store to everyone at the camp ground that night. We will definitely be back and looking forward to stopping back in to see new merchandise. Best of luck to the owners and thank you for welcoming us to your adorable...

The store is beautiful, it has so many things to look at and choose from. It's well decorated and the customer service is good as everyone is very nice and helpful.

My complaint is the prices. I understand this is a tourist location and prices will be inflated but my goodness, I was looking to buy a sticker as a small momento from Schroon Lake. I found one I loved but it was $15.99 I believe. I was not able to find one for less than $5. Actually, I wasn't able to find anything small under $5. Believe it or not, but not everyone who goes on vacation has a lot of money to spend on souvenirs. So I was disappointed. My daughter decided to spend some money on her children and bought 3 zip up hoodies. They were definitely high quality and soft. It would just be nice to have some items that cost a...

This store is a gem in the Adirondacks. It was wonderful before the current owners added their touch, but now it is simply outstanding. Every display is thoughtful and there is something for everyone at this store. I loved the candy section that has some candies that are hard to find nowadays. There is also tea made in Schroon Lake used with herbs grown locally in Salem, NY. My husband loved the selection of Tevas, Altras, and things you might need for a hiking trip.
