I have been in the market for a new vehicle for a few weeks now. While browsing online I came across a vehicle that fit my needs perfectly. Honestly I despise buying a new vehicle. I have had several bad experiences in the past and am very hesitant with salesmen. My new vehicle journey brought me to Sun Chevy in Chittenango. I sat in the parking lot preparing myself for the dreadful process of purchasing a vehicle. As soon as I entered the building I was met with several smiling faces and numerous hellos. That helped put me at ease. A girl came out from an office and asked if she could help me with anything. She was as cute as Elsa from Frozen and had a very upbeat spirit. I told her (Nicole) that I was looking for a new vehicle and that I was interested in one on the lot. Nicole said she would be ecstatic to help and brought me to her office. Before I sat down Nicole asked if I would like a Hershey's Kiss which is my most favorite candy in the universe. She offered one but of course I took three. She brought up the vehicle I mentioned on her computer and asked what my payment range was. While enjoying my Hershey's I explained that I currently have two vehicles and need to consolidate to one. I gave Nicole the information on my vehicles and my preferred monthly payment. Nicole asked to be excused and went to her financial manager. Her only mistake was leaving me alone with the candy. Expeditiously Nicole returned and told me that we could do the deal I requested. We agreed to terms and planned on a mid week pick up of my new vehicle. After I left Nicole vigilantly worked on my deal. Less than one half hour later Nicole called and said she was able to bring my payment well below my original requested monthly payment. I was overly belated. One dilemma I had was getting both my vehicles to the dealership. Nicole called me and said she would have someone drop her off to drive one of my vehicles for me. She said she would be here between 2:30 and 3:00. Nicole arrived right on time and brought my second vehicle in for me. Nicole had all the paperwork ready for me when we walked inside. While eating Hershey's Kisses I signed all my paperwork and was driving home in my new truck within an hour. Nicole was very professional and a very knowledgeable saleswoman. I recommend Nicole and Sun Chevy for your next...

I typically try to be patient when it comes to buying used vehicles, knowing that things can happen — but this experience has crossed the line into outright neglect and poor customer service.
We purchased a used truck from this dealership and literally the next day had to bring it back for service. Yes, we understand it's used — but we also signed paperwork under NYS Lemon Law stating the vehicle was in working condition at the time of sale. Clearly, it was not.
From there, the experience only got worse:
We were not initially offered a rental, despite that being part of the dealership's service policy.
We had to call and ask for one, and when we finally received it, the rental reeked of body odor and ashtray — hardly acceptable.
We received no updates about our truck’s repairs until the dealership reached out only to ask us to return the rental so they could sell it.
Eventually, we received a second rental — and then, like déjà vu, they asked us AGAIN to return it… without offering any update on our vehicle until we asked.
Most recently, they called yet again to demand the rental back. When we explained we had work and commitments, they refused to retrieve the rental themselves.
Now it’s been a full month, and our truck is still in the shop — with no clear timeline, no consistent communication, and no accountability.
To make matters worse:
We’ve received multiple calls from different departments asking the same basic questions (e.g., “Were you given a rental?”), showing they clearly do not communicate internally.
There’s been no real customer support — just finger-pointing and dismissive attitudes.
We have yet to hear from a manager at all. At one point, the salesperson who sold us the truck casually remarked, “Well, things like this happen with used vehicles,” — which felt dismissive given everything we’ve been dealing with.
We’re now seriously considering pursuing action under the Lemon Law.
Bottom line: this dealership sold us a broken vehicle, has made zero effort to take responsibility, and has treated us more like an inconvenience than paying customers. Save yourself the stress — take your...
Read moreThe WORST frauds are at Sun Chevrolet and I could not recommend this dealership any less. Our lease was almost up and we were looking for a used 3rd row SUV. We were not looking at a trade in and didn’t even take that car with us to look at a VW Atlas. They did not let us offer any less than the asking price, and we were not so impressed with negotiating. Salesman came to us and said they were offering to pay our last lease payment. He said they don’t normally do that but they would make the payment and return the lease to Mazda. As we were about to leave the “manager” walks out and is negotiating monthly payments NOT sale price. They automatically add rust warranties to the sale price for $1599. I told the salesman during negotiating that I didn’t want the warranties and he had a panicked look on his face and insisted on it only being 15 dollars a month. We agree to buy the car full price and come back two days later at an appointed time they say they will have everything ready by. Of course they’re not ready and leave my husband anxious to just sign the papers and get out of there. They gave us the car without gas and did not get around to detailing the car.
What they ended up doing was sneaking our last lease payment to our loan without telling us. So now we were the ones paying it with tax and interest! They could not show proof of doing any of the warranty rust protection they forced us to buy. When they were caught with the lease payment on our loan, they said we could come in and redo the loan paperwork, but they absolutely could not remove the warranties even though they were caught lying. We were so disgusted with this entire experience we ended up returning the car. They tried dragging their feet with our down payment back but my husband insisted they run his card.
They are using deceptive pricing tactics to get you to come in and padding the price with these false warranties. Beware that they are more worried about selling you snake oil than a car. Chevrolet should be...
