The Grande is not so Grand ! The kindness stops at the front desk and with the exception of a couple of staff, the degree of care is very disheartening. First of all the place is far from clean. The floors are sticky and dirt actually crackles under you feet from lack of sweeping and mopping. My husband and I actually offered to clean his Mothers room ourselves , they then offered to clean it but the job was a quick once over. The bathroom was not clean as well, the floor was strewn with dirty clothing, toilet paper , urine, amounts other things, there was actually feces own the wall near his moms bed, her room was a disaster . The beds are terribly uncomfortable, not even a hospitable regulated bed, her pillow was crunchy and very thin. they had filthy mats on the floor to catch her if she happened to fall out of bed, no railing on the bed. The walls had holes to the outside. Each time we have visited the room has never been clean or straightened and lately we have found her highly medicated and left in bed all day long without meals. Her glasses were broken and her front tooth was broken. She has Alzheimers which is a difficult disease however the staff seem to take her disease personally when she gets combative and they refuse to care for her . They are are not educated in the care and treatment of Alzheimer patients. we have heard comments from the staff derogatory comments from the staff regarding their jobs and the patients. We understand this is a difficult job nonetheless patients no matter what their condition should be treated with dignity and kindness and especially a clean and comfortable environment in which to spend their final days. The meal service is inconsistent and we and other family members have had to ask why she had not been fed. The dining room is extremely unorganized and slow with meal service. I have plenty of photos to prove these issues which I can share if necessary. My husbands Mom came here from a beautiful and caring facility in Fayetteville, had she not fallen she would still be there . We felt so at ease at the other facility and were actually very pleased with the entire operation from staff to environment to meals and activities. Needless to say the Grande is charging $12,000. per month versus $8000. per month for the assisted living Alzheimers. We truly pray that our Mom can find a suitable alternative to the Grande soon. Each time we leave we are full of disappointment and frustration that we cannot place her somewhere else. We do appreciate those that do try their best to love those they care for and we are...
Read moreComplete and total joke of a nursing home. I am not certain how this home earns any rating above two stars.
I wish I could give zero stars.
First of all, they demanded my mother drop her insurance and be switched to regular Medicare. Why? Because even though her insurance was accepted there, I later learned that they were billing Medicare for services that were reimbursed at a higher rate. This immediately caused my dad to lose his insurance as he was on my mother’s insurance plan. Did they bother to tell us this? No. Now my dad must pay insurance premiums he has never had to pay for over 15 years.
Come to find out I spoke to other families about any issues and they all say the same thing! These people are complete con artist to the bone. They have no interest in the well-being of your loved one and will bill the Medicare system for every penny they can.
I subsequently learned that they will do evaluations on people who are completely fine and will find the smallest of excuses just so they can be reimbursed at a higher rate. I’m not kidding. They marked my mom as ‘shortness of breath while resting’ and submitted that to Medicare as a reason to bill them higher. They did this 3 times for just my mom. Imagine the others.
Secondly, they send everyone to the hospital for minor things knowing that when they return from the hospital they will be placed on a higher-paying stay so that they can be reimbursed more.
This place is pure greed to the bone.
One of the families let me know that they have submitted a formal request for Medicare to investigate their billing practices. Medicare and Medicaid need to investigate this nursing home and all the others owned by...
Read moreMy fiances grandfather was placed in there for rehabilitation services so he could go back home. A year later and he never made it home. He's been sent to the hospital twice from there because he was getting worse not better. He was recently sent to the hospital again and in the condition he was in was inexcusable. He has bed sores and puncture wounds all over him from not getting moved, cleaned everyday. He was left in the same position for so long that some of the wounds are unfixable and cannot be undone. He also has a catheter and got a uti from it not being properly taken care of. He went in there to work on his legs. Everuthing else was fine and now hes eating thru a tube, he can barly move and he looks like hes aged 10 years. Its crazy. It's just ridiculous that this place is even still open and allowed to house patience! I've looked at their past and preasant complaints and they should be investigated and shut...
