Magical is the word when I think of this place ! From the yellow brick road you walk on to get there , to he colorful sign and flag on the building , it set the stage for me. Upon entering the first thing you see is the gift shop which is big and literally has everything you can think of ! T-shirts, dvds, keychains, magnets, postcards, aprons, ornaments , sign, collectables like precious moments and more! The knowledgeable, friendly staff are also standing there to greet you and offer to take a picture infront of the emerald City scene ! From there you can take a guided tour or go on your own. Once you enter into the actual museum part you will want your camera ready ! They have everything you want to know about Oz , from the very start where L. Frank Baum got his ideas , to the MGM movie and all its characters, to the Wiz and beyond ! There were movies I never even knew existed but I'll save that for you to see! I have to say as well Chittenango as a while is a cute little town as well with shops, restaurants , casino , waterfall and more ! So...
Read moreGreat experience! I'm no Oz expert, having never read the books so this was quite interesting! There is lots to see. I walked away with great awe and appreciation for the the original writer, and others, Oz and all it's countless additional books and spin offs.

After I showed up there was a couple who opted for the guided tour. It was both interesting to hear what she was explaining but also a bit distracting as I was trying to concentrate on reading the displays.
There are almost life size cardboard replicas of the main characters to take your photos with for fun.
I highly...

A thoroughly stocked gift shop, Baum's Bazaar (themed using Baum's time in the Dakotas running a store), lets you take home many Ozian treasures -- even up to a piece of the Yellow Brick Road (literally at times... see the store for more info.). The whole place will be having Oz fans and others who are young at heart screaming with...
