Dollar General — Local services in Town of Vernon

I have been to this store many times over the past year and while it has never been a magnificent experience, I have remained a loyal customer as I live within walking distance. Today was different. I walk to this store and typically bring a backpack to carry my groceries home in. I have asked if I should leave it at the door and have before but it's never been a problem for me to walk around with it in the store and I have never been asked to leave it at the front. I would not mind opening it to pack my things at the end, but it would hold everyone up in line and I would have to do it too quickly and clumsily to be effective for my trip, so I wait until I'm outside to unpack the store bags and place the items in my own. I also have terrible crippling anxiety as I was severely abused for 17yrs of my life in all the ways and so get extremely nervous in social settings and around others in close spaces. I feel as though they will attack me physically, I cannot help it, it is simply a result of my upbringing. This can make me seem shifty as I am in constant psychological distress whilst shopping anywhere but it happens to be a necessary evil. I also do not have the best clothing as I am poor. So when I get followed around a store by suspicious employees, it is nothing new and only to be expected at this point even though I have never stolen in my life. Tonight I experienced something similar, but we will say 'amped up'. The employees were loudly and pointedly speaking about catching a thief. Now, at first I thought ok they have a thief no surprise, then I realized they were looking at me and following me and directing the vocalization of these comments towards me. They heavily followed me around the store as a duo and made me feel like a cornered animal. I even felt encouraged to call back and state my discomfort at the situation and volunteer the same explanation I've given here and they blatantly seemed to remain under the opinion I was indeed their theif. I can't blame them for their suspicions, but that was rediculous. No apologies offered, no denial of my claims against them, nothing. They clearly still think it's me, but I guarantee that their theif will still be stealing product even though I will never return. I have recently suffered heart injury and upon my arrival home after this incident I had an anxiety attack which could have and probably did worsen this condition. How dare you. That was excessively rude and entirely unnecessary. I hope your theif gets you for all your worth. Happy...

Dollar General is extremely convenient for me being as its right across the street. I always make sure to click on all the latest deals on the app before I go since you never know, plus you don't need to worry about a card, you use your phone number(that you use when setting up the app account)

For quick pick up, you can order on the app.. and also make sure you get all the deals available. The parking lot is huge, two separate entrances.. one can be tricky if your not familiar, the other one can be tricky since there is a makeshift road that goes to the police station, auctions are held there sometimes (police and animals like horses or cows 😥) and the other way will lead you onto a side road that leads to the main road
