The store is very nice with pretty good variety. However you better do your research and be sure of what you’re purchasing. The young lady who claims to be the team leader is clearly very green and lacking the experience to deal with all the nuances and responsibilities of her job, but most importantly the basic of knowing about the products they are selling, understanding the customer base, and there expectations. I spent almost 1500 dollars in two trips, and had an issue with a price on an item. Her response was oh well I already purchased it. And I understand to a point except I was charged double the price something I normally purchase and only received less then half of it. Understanding some general managers have no authority and it must be handled by an owner was acceptable, except she was disinterested in taking my info and getting in touch with them and getting back to me. She instead gave me the basic information email with no contact info to figure it out for myself. Let me know Md with I wasn’t looking to return anything or get money back for the price gouging and over charge I was given. I wasn’t even asking to be made whole. For clarity I was overcharged about 125 dollars. Basically I spent money to get a Mercedes and received a Chevy. Nothing wrong with a Chevy unless your paying for a Benz. In the end I was asking her to speak to her owner about a store credit for when I come in and spend another 500 or better for like 50 dollars because this was something she wasn’t capable of making a decision about. I said something recognizing there was def an error and they value my patronage. And if you can’t speak to the owner and get back to me. None of this was plausible to her. So in the end she didn’t do anything wrong. But she certainly didn’t do anything to treat a customer who buys in quantity any courtesy, including letting me know she could care less. Needless to say I spent 1500 and the store made great markup off me on that sale. But I’ll never spend another dollar there again and encourage others to do the same. The type of merchandise they sell, they sell to a community. It’s like a restaurant where you depend on regulars. Just know that your treated like a customer at a Disney theme park: charge as much as possible and don’t care that you spent your hard earned money on some games and memorabilia. Because it’s expected somebody else will and they don’t need your business.lastly maybe that’s not the owner Ken’s business vision, but he’s not visible or accessible and so that’s the vibe his team leader is giving out. So in closing do your research like I should’ve. Usually in this market the pricing is pretty similar across the board as there a distributor of the product that you have to go through. But literally 125 dollars more then the very one else. My mistake was trusting based off appearances. And finally this isn’t the only occasion I found this team leader very off putting. The first time I went to the store and was spending 600 dollars she was not very pleasant or helpful and my questions seemed to be an inconvenience to her. They had quite a selection and that was the reason for questions and the reason I returned a second time. But that’s how this generation operates. As this manager has to be in her 20’s. Well I’ve said enough. Good...
Read moreUsed to be able to get one piece cards at retail and now this place says they charging more based on reseller values ? So scalping prices ? A box that cost 100 now 160? How does a retail store do this ? The card buying community will come together and we all stop shopping there ! What advantage does it give you to do this ? I can just shop from Home and save my gas and buy at TCG or EBay . Stores like yours sell at retail cause it gets people In your store to buy other stuff , to get them interested in other things that you have there . I come to get For one piece or Pokémon and noticed you have a t shirt that cool or a game I noticed as I walking back to get the cards and I buy them and next you know I come and look Closer at what you have and buy other stuff , then I see there tables to come in and play my card game with others and I make friends and then we get others to Come And next you know Your retail shop Is doing amazing . Your employees should be engaging with the customer and talking to them about all types of stuff that you guys sell there! Get people into new things . Going the route of raises the prices to what eBay 2nd market is doing is not going to Help your store ! I would rethink your business plan and find another way to bring in capital then to raise prices to what scalpers are doing on eBay and TCG . This could be the difference from Being open this time next year or closing the doors for good at vestal . What...
Read moreI was looking to get into board games with my family. We stopped into the Johnson city location and asked the associate Logan what to purchase. Logan was awesome, they recommend smash up. Logan took us to the section and sold us the game. All was great until I got home and opened the box to realize that this does not contain what is necessary to play the game. I went back to the store to figure it out and Logan realized their mistake. Logan had sold me an expansion only, unbeknownst to them. Now I don't know what I'm buying, I'm going totally on Logan's advice here.
All good up until this point.
Logan reached out to the boss, explained their mistake, and the boss still refused to work with me. I was willing to take a loss by trading for a cheaper game. The boss would have none of that. He insisted I needed to email him to maybe get store credit. I don't want store credit, I want my money back, or a game I can actually play.
Terrible business practices, and no protection for the customer when and employee makes a mistake.
Take your money elsewhere. Somewhere that you know will work with you if something is wrong. Not screw you over and stick you with a $50 empty box...
Logan is great and they deserve to work for a better company.
Update: the company reached out via email and will do a refund. Only 4 stars because I need to drive back to the store again to...
