This is my sole experience and it may not be everyone's here. So take it with a grain of salt.
Pros- The staff is very friendly and down to earth. The atmosphere is great. Very welcoming and laid back. They offer a lot of new treatments, that pretty much aren't offered anywhere in Illinois other than Chicago. They take most insurances. All of that shows me the really want to get help to the people.
Cons- Lack of communication- Again this is my experience and may be different with others. I know she is the only provider also, and is probably quite busy. So I do understand that. Never the less here is my experience.
I met with doctor once during intake for Spravato. I have not talked to them since I started treatment. I was told I would meet with them again to discuss after 4 weeks of treatment. That did not happen. This drug is very intense. A lot of changes. A lot going on. I don't know what I'm supposed to be feeling, what to expect, what's not normal, if it's really helping or not, and I have no one to talk to about it. I've tried to use google and chat gpt to navigate it all the best I can. I do have a lot of mental health struggles. I know they aren't my therapist. But some communication, some accommodation, would help out a lot. To just know how I feel from this treatment is normal and it will smooth out over time. Or to know it's not normal and I need to stop treatment. I currently just feel stuck and I don't know what to do. And like a 5 minute conversation would make a big difference.
But overall the staff is very nice and I am thankful for the treatments they provide. Especially after being through so many treatments that didn't help at all or made things worse. I'm glad for the opportunity to be able to try these new ones, that may offer hope when most things have not worked. I'm glad they make this available to pretty...
Read moreHad really high hopes for this place but it didn’t start out great and went down hill from there. Sent a very detailed inquiry through the website and got an auto generated email back and that’s it. Waited almost a week and sent another email to try and schedule my first appointment. The link to schedule I received back didn’t work and showed no availability for anyone. Sent another email and after calling also, finally got an appointment about a month out. Was told I’d get an email to put in all my insurance information but never got one. Figured I would sort it out the day of the first appointment. The day before the appointment I got an email asking to move the time up an hour. I scheduled an evening appointment (7:00 pm) because of my chaotic work schedule and had to get an evening appointment sorted out with my job well in advance to be sure I could make it. The day of the appointment it was canceled “due to illness” which is strange with the attempt to change times the day before. This clearly isn’t going...
Read moreI'm not new to mental health. I sent an email to Occult inquiring about their services specific to my needs, not answered on their website. Nothing taxing on their part or requiring a long response. Just feeling it out before booking my appt. Well, my email was met with an ignorant, copy/paste form letter response and I've heard nothing further after my reply. I do better customer service working in the pottery field for gods sake. What a joke of a place with a joke of a name and a joke...
