BC BBQ — Restaurant in Pekin

Five stars - I just want to make sure that’s read first! My husband and I haven’t eaten BBQ in a while, so we decided to give a new spot a, and we adore the atmosphere and food here. If the warm welcome doesn’t make you want to stay, the smell of their cooking will, I guarantee it!!

Just as a starter, we got the sweet corn nuggets and the Saturday special (burnt ends, cornbread, and a side of jalapeño bacon mac n cheese). The corn nuggets were perfectly crispy and savory! The mango honey sauce added a sweet and refreshing aftertaste as well, so I loved it :) I am not too sure if we had to choose between the chicken or burnt ends, but don’t let the portions fool you - the burnt ends are very filling and wonderfully flavored💖 The cornbread is light and fluffy, and the mac n cheese is very “heavenly” in my husbands words 😙🤌. The bacon and jalapeño complement the macaroni very well and makes you want to take another bite while breaking a small sweat🤣 100/10

Back to the welcoming environment, the service is amazing and everyone there is very kind. Even though we had takeout, the choose-your-own seating & design of the restaurant is relaxing, I love the decor! Granted, we checked out the place early in the day, so it wasn’t packed, but reasonably busy. I would not doubt it if it was super busy in the evening, it is such a great place to enjoy a bite and take more home for safekeeping! While in Pekin for a visit, a friend and I got hungry. Wanting to try something other than the usual fast food fare we found BC BBQ on YELP! Okay first off I gotta WARN out-of-towners that it is actually a take out and delivery ONLY place. However, that said we walked in and asked if there was a problem with eating at on of the 2 small tables they have for customers who are waiting for their orders. The staff was very accommodating and allowed us to "dine in". A variety of smoked meats await you on the menu. Brisket, pulled pork and chicken and their special Hog Wings. My friend had the pork and I can never resist pulled chicken. A variety of sauces are available to add the right sweet, smokey or spicy flavor. I tried a couple different ones and liked them both. Sides include choice of beans, cole slaw, potato salad and more. The cole slaw was fresh and creamy and the baked beans were good but only average in taste. Great place. first time at new location. placed a carry out order since it's all they're doing at this time. 5 meals ordered, get back home and notice one was missing. thankfully it was mine. before calling I double check the receipt to make sure the missing order was on it. it was, so I call. nice young lady that answered the phone was so apologetic. asked if I wanted it credited back to card or going to come back over. it's a little over 20 minutes each way now but I was hungry and everyone else's food smelled so good, I said I'd be back. when I get back over there they took care of the situation promptly and asked if anything else they can do, such nice people. so many people are so quick to blast an establishment on social media if their order isn't correct. try giving a place a chance to make it right. more often than not, they will go above and beyond to make you happy and keep you as a customer. love me some BC and I'll...
