The cake was beautiful and done for a special occasion for a child leaving foster care. When I first contacted Simply Sweet I specifically asked for whipped icing, as our family isn’t a fan of buttercream and super sweet icing. My husband picked up the cake the day before our party and when I checked it, it definitely did not have whipped icing. When I contacted Simply Sweet, the response I got was “that is sold through Walmart or a grocery store”. I would have rather gone to Kroger or somewhere different to get a cake for half the cost, because the frosting tasted like clay mixed with powdered sugar and anhydrous. Simply Sweet Cakes did such an amazing job for our wedding. I LOVE their French Toast cake and usually it is only a seasonal fall cake but Mike went out of his way to make the French Toast cake specially for our wedding and it was a huge hit! The traditional wedding cake they offer is phenomenal with their almond twist. My husband who is not a cake person will only eat their cake. I got a cake today from Simply Sweet cakes for my daughter’s birthday and I was pretty disappointed. I was scheduled to pick my cake up at 10:30am, but when I got there it was not done. The owner seemed surprised my cake was scheduled for pick up at that time. I waited a half hour for my cake to be ready, but it was missing part of the design so it looked really plain. My daughter’s party was at 1:00pm so I could not wait any longer for it to be re-done.
