I've visited Walgreens stores all across the country, and while customer service might not always be their strong suit, my recent experience at this particular Walgreens takes the cake for poor service.
My 7 years old son had a medical appointment that required a eight-hour drive on Monday, and for a specific reason, I requested that my prescription be sent to this Walgreens since it's closer to my home. On that very day, I called them to confirm the availability of the prescription, as my 7-year-old son's asthma was acting up, and I desperately needed the medication. They assured me that they didn't have it in stock but would order it, promising its arrival today (9/13/2023).
Today, with hope and relief in my heart, I went to pick up the life-saving medication, only to be hit with a shocker. They informed me that my health insurance wouldn't cover it and that the generic brand would cost a staggering $1,800. Bewildered, I inquired if it was Advair, as I had specifically called on Monday to confirm its availability. The response was baffling; the lady said, "No, I'm talking about the generic version." This led me to ask about Advair itself, to which she replied that it was covered, and the cost was a mere hundred and something dollars, but they did not order even though I called them on Monday to ask for Advair specifically.
However, the ordeal was far from over. Despite my prior call on Monday, Walgreens claimed they didn't have Advair in stock. To make matters worse, they didn't bother to call me about this issue. It felt like they simply didn't care about my predicament. Instead, they waited until I arrived at the store to start looking for a solution, leaving me hanging without any answers.
This experience has left me thoroughly disappointed in this Walgreens location. It's disheartening to see such a lack of concern for customers in dire need of medication, especially for a child's health. I have been a loyal Walgreens customer in various locations, but I see no reason to return to Walgreens ever again. The indifference and poor service I encountered here have left a lasting impression, and I hope my feedback helps shed light on the areas where improvement is...
Read moregot there to pick up my dads insulin, he’s a type one so it is necessary for him to live. The contract through our insurance states we pay 25$ for his prescription. When we get to the window and give our name to pick up the meds the woman behind the glass says “that will be $154.xx” I tried my best to explain that our insurance states no more than 25$, clearly annoyed she says “let me see what I can do” and proceeded to slam the phone down. She comes back over the speaker saying “I don’t know what I did but I got it down to 35$” wanting to avoid confrontation I proceeded to just pay instead of arguing the last 10$, again my father needs this to live. I was annoyed but okay, until she left the speaker on by I’m assuming accident when grabbing the meds, and proceeded to bash me and my father to her coworkers for the 5 min wait. Here’s the kicker I’m gonna leave y’all with “if there to broke to afford the meds maybe he shouldn’t have them” I am disgusted. They got caught trying to over charge by more than 100$ and got pissy when I called her out, then proceeded to tell her friends on the other side of the glass were to broke for my father to have the meds that...
Read moreI called to renew a prescription since they had been on back order for the last month. Last week I spoke with a younger tech and she was very nice on the phone. I asked if they had it in stock yet and she said yes, but that they had to wait a day to get it refilled because I had to go to a different location to fill in June. But once they shifted the refill date, they now had to get re-approval from my doctor to refill, so I said okay. I hadn't heard back in over a week so I called my doctor to see if they received anything and they hadn't and the doctor called the pharmacy and were told a completely different story that they just didn't have any in stock and just needed to order more but they were going to be filled that day. I got a text that my refill was delayed so I called the pharmacy and spoke with a different tech/pharmacist than the first and she was extremely short and rude, barely even answering my questions before hanging up very quickly on me. It seemed like she was put out on trying to help and do her job. Won't be coming back to this one, I'd rather drive out of my way than deal with...
