My mother died less than 1 hour after being discharged from this hospital! The hospital does not know what caused my mothers death AND they did not take action to have an autopsy done to find the cause. On 10/20/22 my mother was admitted to FirstHealth Montgomery Hospital for "observation for further treatment of ACUTE worsening of COPD with associated low levels of oxygen in her blood." "On October 24, 2022, she had GOOD oxygen saturation without any supplemental oxygen while at erst and when moving around. In the provider's CLINICAL JUDGMENT she had met MAXIMAL medical benefit from hospitalization and was STABLE for discharge to home." Less than an hour later my mom collapsed in the parking lot of my brothers' house. My sister-in-law and my brother had to try to give her CPR to keep her alive. This was in front of my two nephews who where 2 and 3 years old at the time. My brother and sister-in-law had to watch my mothers' life slip away in their arms WHILE my nephews watched, horrified! The ambulance came and brought my mother to FirstHealth Moore Regional - Emergency Department. By then she was unresponsive. She was admitted to ICU and CT findings showed that she was too far gone to recover. She officially died at 10:50pm that same day. The SAME day she was discharged from FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital. We had to inquire for two years to try and find out what caused her death. Two years! After years of going through hoops and trying to get answers, FirstHealth Moore Regional finally wrote me an OFFICIAL letter and let me know that the Associate Medical Director, Hospitalist did a review. They said that my mothers' death "did not meet criteria for notification to the Medical Examiner and FirstHealth does not perform autopsies". They also wrote that "the heart attack she [my mother] suffered after discharge was unfortunate, unexpected, and unforeseen". I reached back out with more questions via email because "heart attack" was not on my mothers' death certificate as the cause of death. They then responded with "Please accept our apology for the misstatement provided in our previous response of August 20, 2024, indicating that Ms. Decatur had a heart attack. Our response should have indicated that Ms. Decatur suffered a cardiac arrest after her discharge as opposed to a heart attack. Cardiac arrest means her heart stopped; a heart attack means that the blood flow in a heart vessel was interrupted which results in heart injury or sometimes death." I still have so many questions. It's hard for me to believe and accept the fact that my mother was in this hospital for 3 to 4 days being monitored and treated, with NO SIGNS that she was about to have multiple heart failure, and then she is discharged because it is the "clinical judgment" that she's good to go home, but then has multiple organ failure less than an hour later. Why was she discharged? Why was there no sign of her organs failing while she was hospitalized for 4 days? Why was there no autopsy done to find a cause for her organ failure? Why do we STILL not know what caused my mothers' death???!!!

I had bad chest pains, heart palpitations, and shortness of breath. On their scale, I was a 7.5 in pain. I wasn't sure if it was heart related or a muscle pulled. I went to the ER. Different nurses popped in and out, making it unclear who my nurse was. The information on the whiteboard was incorrect. The doctors name was incorrect, and these little details do matter when it comes to health care. I took an x-ray and wasn't offered a larger gown. I insisted on having another one to cover up my backside. Blood was drawn. I did all the tests the doctor asked for, and he looked me right in my face and said everything was alright. I was discharged. After reading my test results, my chest pain was coming from low potassium and anemic. The doctor told me none of this. I had to read my online chart to find out. Once I started eating more foods with potassium and red meats, my pain went away. My thing is HE DIDN'T TELL ME. Just be sure to read everything if u can and take notes for your own sake because they were unbothered with not telling me anything. Low potassium dangerous. It can lead to high blood pressure, mental decline, anxiety and physical fatigue, and pain.

Montgomery Memorial was great , I had an acute nosebleed twice and they were great. Close to where I live and very caring. Will go back for an emergency.

I was seen in Richmond Memorial Emergency Dept initially who sent me home with a broken Inferior Pubic Ramos in two places ... It's the little round bone in your pelvis that all the major nerve and blood vessels run thru to supply the actual femur joint or hip joint ...with some non narcotic pain meds and an Orthopedic referral ... Only to return a week later due to the fact I was in excruciating pain and there was not an Orthopedic appointment to be had in Rockingham....One week later I was admitted to Montgomery First Health in Troy I must say what a difference between the two Hospitals ... I preceeded to have excellent care at the Montgomery FirstHealth Rehabilitation.. like no where I'd ever been before ..The staff was not only professional but courteous caring and comforting ...I received PT,OT,and was treated by a fantastic nursing staff ... I never once was denied pain medicine nor anything else I asked for during my rehab The PT had hands of magic and performed myofacia massage to both my broken hip and my knee which was also injured and compromised... The OT was also just as therapeutic with the treatment intervention that she preformed ... The Dietician and food I received was delicious as well although Richmond First Health hands down has the absolute best food and dietary delights ...All in all my stay at both Hospitals was recooperative therapeutic and excellent ... I would recommend Montgomery FirstHealth for their Therapy and Richmond FirstHealth for there initial care and recommendations of their sister hospital ... I have never stayed in Pinehurst FirstHealth but have been treated and released from there after an ER visit ...so I cannot actually add them to this review.. Atta Boy to all the staff at Richmond and Montgomery FirstHealths for a job and care well done...

I recently went to the ER for chest pains, heart racing, and left arm pain. Front desk clerk was not concerned with me told me to wait she was trying to get patients put in the system for their sleep studies. When I went back ER doctor was very nice and nurses were great. Was admitted and ended up stay 2 nights. The nurses in the main hospital were so rude and smart mouthed. Told me for my heart issues if I would just move slower my heart wouldn’t race but the doctor was going to just give me medicine anyways. The Doctor was great Judith James was her name. Was told my kids could not visit me even for a minute even though I was told they could come in one at a time but when the shift change happened and the rude nurse was on duty it was a problem. When I was being discharged I was standing waiting for paperwork and the nurses were so rude. Said she is printing your note just wait. I said okay. Her and the other nurses sitting at their station area making rude comments. The doctor came out the office told them to give me the papers. Once she went back to her office again with the rude comments. “Don’t know why she was even here, she didn’t even have a heart attack just got close to it, she’s only 30 something must of just wanted a break from home. I couldn’t wait to get out of there. Never again will I ever go there. Ended up having several heart issues that the doctor helped me with and currently see a cardiologist regularly. It’s people like the rude nurses that make people not even want to reach out for help and just deal with their...
