This restaurant is a joke anymore. Years ago when Jerry was alive and owned that restaurant he had delicious steaks delicious everything. My husband had never been there to eat and I had years ago so I bragged on how delicious the steaks were. When we went in about 4pm today they were not busy at all there was only a two tables that were being occupied. We waited for about 7 to 8 minutes before the waitress come over to give us menus. She took our order I bragged again about how delicious the steaks were and anything that you ate there was and talked about his spice that Jerry used to make. Now grant you it's been like 20 years since I've been in this restaurant . We waited and waited for our salad's to come out before our steaks but she never brought them. She finally brought out or food and she said oh I forgot your salads. Duh I said to my husband as she was walking away. We cut into the steaks and instantly had troubles cutting the meat. My husbands steak was very thin and my steak was very thick but very tough along with his and we ordered the same steaks We were both so hungry so we both ate our food but not all of it. The waitress never came back to our table to ask us how things were or if we needed anything, nor did she do a refill on our drinks. Our baked potato was very good but salads had slimy and brown lettuce and Texas toast was cold. The cook owner or manager whoever he was came to the table as my husband was in the restroom qand asked how everything was. I replied my husband is not happy. I said my husband steak was very thin and very tough mine was thick but tough also. He replied with oh I'm sorry. Then went to pay and the super chef behind the counter, says ohhhh sorry you weren't satisfied. Didn't offer to make it right, instead overcharged us which my bad didn't hit me until we had already left. Worst steak and experience I've ever had at a once so called best steakhouse around. Won't never be back and word of mouth will get around for these people,...
Read moreI was excited to try this place because I love small, hole-in-the-wall restaurants. Unfortunately, I won’t be coming back.
From the start, the service was awful. We sat for over 20 minutes before anyone even brought us a menu—and the restaurant wasn’t even busy. Despite seeing four or five servers, not one of them offered to refill our drinks, which were empty before our food even arrived.
My husband and I both ordered the ribeye, and we were immediately disappointed when our meals showed up cold. The side salad was $4 for a handful of cheap bagged lettuce with awful ranch dressing. The presentation overall was unimpressive—styrofoam cups, flimsy plastic bowls, and plates so scratched up that I doubt they could ever be truly clean. I’m not picky about fancy dining, but good food and service should be a given.
If you're avoiding seed oils, steer clear. They serve vegetable oil spread instead of butter, so I couldn't eat my toast, baked potato, or the unappetizing, canned mushrooms they tried to pass off as sautéed. The steak itself had potential, but I ordered medium-rare and got something barely seared—practically still mooing.
For $85, this was a complete waste of time and money. The entire place smelled like an old, run-down bar despite the "No Smoking" signs. Worst of all, the staff seemed miserable, like they had no interest in being there.
I wanted to like this place, but between the terrible service, low-quality food, and dingy atmosphere, I can’t recommend...
Read moreOh, forget about going to Memphis or Jonesboro for a great steak. Jerry’s Steak House in Truman AR is the best around!!!They serve a filet that will absolutely melt in your mouth. They also have a steak sandwich that is WONDERFUL. It has so much steak on it I think they must use an entire steak it. It comes with grilled onion, mushrooms, and Swiss cheese on it. The seasoning on their steaks is awesome. You can also buy their seasoning right there on the spot. Don’t just take my word on it, go eat there for yourself. You will be glad you did. They also serve burgers and other things there as well. It’s just a little hole in the wall restaurant but they turn out some...
