This has been one of the worst, most unprofessional encounters of my 35-year career. The work I asked to be done was shoddy and incomplete. I was charged for work that was not delivered. No attention to detailed requests were not honored. When questioned about the lack of excellence in his work, the owner flippantly puts you off. You are invited to come sit up front and pay to have someone work with you to restore files that you already paid to have restored. Purchased power cords do not fit the equipment. That which does fit no longer charges a perfectly fine working battery. A friend used his known working cord, and the battery will not charge anymore. If this company did not care to do the scope of work requested, the owner should have made this known to the client and I could continue my search. I feel my life has been breached and every necessary precaution has been taken by the proper authorities. This deal was a costly sham. My information is sitting on a hard drive and can't be transferred back to the computer as requested. He left that for me to do, but I paid him. I will have to pay thousands to have my information restored by a company of INTEGRITY. Please do not be fooled by the Christian symbols. Bottom line, in my opinion, this company has integrity and workmanship issues. I wholeheartedly and without reservations DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM.
Four years after this review was posted on Google, the owner responded with inuendo and lies. I did not include in the first review that an officer with the TRUSSVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT and my Spiritual Father showed up with me to pick up my items. I called both, because when I went back by myself, the atmosphere was filled with bad energy. The son, who worked in there, was nice, but guarded. It seemed to me his friendly personality was being stiffled by his father. I sensed danger, therefore I brought the authority with me and my Spiritual Father as a male support.

Read moreI also had a very, very bad experience. I spent $2500 for him to build a gaming computer. I ended up with a hunk of junk that didn't work. It kept freezing up and having problems from the moment I got it. He has no idea what he's doing. My parents had the same problem with him. I eventually had to contact the Better Business Bureau and the Alabama Attorney General's office to get my money back. He even ended up TAKING parts I originally paid for while he was taking the computer apart and attempting to fix the issues with new parts. He claimed he didn't, but what can you do? I ended up upgrading a standard, Dell computer from Best Buy and only spent $1700. Needless to say, I didn't have a single problem with Best Buy's computer other than a headphone jack eventually went out and needed to be replaced. This guy is a joke. Buyer (or person in need of repairs) beware!!!!
So, this is the email I received the following day after I posted the review (and my response:)
The owner: We have never had you as a customer and I don’t appreciate you leaving false reviews. You must have us confused with someone else and you have been reported to Google for reprimand. Feel free to call us and apologize when you get it straight and give the bad review to the right company next time.
Me: Yes, I was your customer. I still have the cds and everything from that computer. Maybe, I could call the attorney general's office and better business bureau to get copies of my complaints. Heck, I keep so much old paperwork, I might still have it. Or, I could look in old emails for proof. You just lie, and lie, and lie. I even had you give me a copy of the paperwork that I had been refunded. My parents came in there with me as backup when you refused to give me my money back. Maybe, I should stop by so you can remember my face. I find it really hard to believe that you don't recall this fiasco...lol. When things started to once again become too difficult to understand, I was given easier to relate with information. Clearer suggestions, and much easier step-by-step instructions. While some places are lurking, eager to provide for some over priced services, and pushy suggestions to upgrade or persuaded to purchase unnessassary programs, software, or hardware, it felt really good to be reasured in already having what I needed. Convienced to have Trust and patience in it may be a different story. I highly suggest giving Magic City Computers an opportunity to provide you with a New&ImprovedExperience and a better opportunity to improve your needs.
