This is my first complaint EVER, but between the way I, a disabled person, was treated, and the fact that you have my money AND my merchandise...someone has to LISTEN!!!
I arrived at the At Home Tulsa store on Tues, 10-29-19 @ approx 11:30. I was finally able to leave at a little after 5:30, having spent a total of $1,311.66. I told them my delivery person would pick everything up by Thursday or Friday, depending on his schedule, but I would call and confirm FIRST! They have never answered, nor returned my calls, including 3 today.
BUT BACK TO THE BEGINNING OF THIS NIGHTMARE...
I went in the store 9 days ago, and due to back and knees pain, got an electric cart. I needed several things, felt pretty good, and decided this was my one and only chance to get things before Christmas.
I got down 2 aisles of Christmas and the cart died. I was purchasing outdoor displays, and when the cart died, I kept waiting (& shopping by the cart) for someone to come by. NEVER HAPPENED! I finally used the aisles to hold onto to walk back up front. NO ONE WAS THERE...no security, no cashier.
I got a cart which helped some and went back to where my things were. Painfully loaded them up...and waited...and hobbled...and finally found a lady rushing toward the back. She didn’t want to stop, she looked both ways, but she did. She took my cart up front and brought me an electric cart.
I made it over to buy a small tree by the outdoor pillows (what I needed), I found the bench pillows I needed, AND THE ELECTRIC CART DIED...AGAIN!!! #2
Fortunately a manager came by and helped me, but I wasn’t able to finish before that one died right in front of a Christmas display 2 managers(?) had been working on all afternoon. #3
One of them pulled my cart and I hobbled up front. I stood for over an 1.5 hours while they let smaller orders go in front of me. I watched a man run out with comforters and drive off (no security anywhere)...lots of people showed up after that! Then they left! They knew I was in horrible pain and barely holding on, and although they kept mentioning a chair, no one appeared.
I have been very ill since getting home... bedridden, high (102+) temp, terrible pain...all things that go along with my condition AND what STRESS does to me.
What kind of business does not answer their phone? Please help me solve this. I need this weight off...
Read moreHave some of EVERYTHING and then some! Prices are outrageous on some items, I actually found the same products less expensive elsewhere. The Home & Garden Show was a great place to get many "great saves" on everyday household items, I try to attend every year. Their bed sets are available at BOTH Target and WalMart at least 20 to 40 percent savings over At Home. I was shocked! I find what I would like to have, take a photo with my phone, then "comparison shop" other stores before making my selections. I also study return policies of each location. You need to make sure they have a "damage return" policy. This policy will insure the product is returnable, if after first washing (for example) a quilt, comforter, blanket, sheets, etc. can be returned if a seam separates due to manufacturing defect, a hem comes undone, stuffing comes out, feathers or fiber fill escapes due to no fault of purchaser. Sometimes surgers don't pickup the fabric and you have an unsewn seam, or some other defect at time of packaging. At Home has fairly decent prices on their outdoor furniture, storage bins, boxes, utility storage strips for hanging brooms, rakes, shovels, power washer wands, etc. Not to mention knee boards, gloves, hand tools, nozzels, seeds, bulbs (singles and multipacks), yard ornaments, etc. They have a plethoria of outdoor entertaining items from unbreakable outdoor dinnerware with several styles "glasswares" to match, from drinking glasses to pottery style outdoor cookware. They also have "to dos" to keep children occupied. I keep a bin with color books, several packs of crayons (for those children who don't want to share), barbie dolls, action figures, current movie heros, teddy bears, dogs, cats, bunnies, etc. for children who prefer stuffed animals. Thet "try" to comfort me IF I don't have "their" favorite toy because they can see I "tried" to accomodate all of them in my toy selection. At Home has games to add to this stash plus other ones I wanted but were hard to find. The store is accomodating for various items. I strongly recommended this store. Many people don't remember this store. It was Garden Ridge, I can not remember the name before that. It has always been an "outdoor and...
Read moreI’m extremely disappointed with the way my recent issue was handled. I visited this store for the first time the other day—it looked great and had a nice variety of items. I purchased the Crosby St. Navy Waffle Duvet Cover and was shocked to find it incredibly itchy and uncomfortable, even after one gentle wash. When I reached out to customer service about a return, I was told the store wouldn’t accept it simply because it had been washed.
I’m not sure how anyone else functions out there, but who puts a duvet cover on their bed without washing it first? How else is someone supposed to discover that the fabric is irritating unless they’ve actually used it? It even broke me out in hives.
Instead of offering a refund or even an exchange, the rep offered a $25 gift card, after I spent $63.59 on the item. That’s not exactly helpful when I can’t use the product at all. I would’ve at least respected it if I had been offered store credit for the full amount, but now I’m out $38.59, that’s if I even receive the gift card.
It’s really disheartening to see a brand put policy over customer experience, especially when the issue is comfort and usability, not buyer’s remorse. It feels completely unfair that I’m taking the loss, even after offering to return the item.
UPDATE: As you will see in the final image, I followed the instructions from the owner asking me to contact them to investigate and all I got was my time wasted. They repeated the same nonsense about the $25 gift card, as if I was stupid. I think I was very clear about why I was contacting them again, but they refused to investigate further. What good is a $25 gift card to me, to give the money right back to the store and I'm out of $63 for something I CANNOT USE? DISGUSTING that a huge store like this would do such a thing even though I explained the issue and offered to bring the item back so they didn't think I was playing games. I lost $63 and still have to go buy another duvet.. I am disgusted...
