4/21/2021 update... literally the same exact experience from 2 years ago. Except with our 2018 Q7 this time.

Made an appointment over the phone for a morning drop off at 8am. 1040am John let's me know car is all checked out and they're working on it now. Gave me updates and provided some factory maintenance suggestions. I appreciate the information and advice. Our vehicle is in great hands with Irvine Auto Care!

2 years ago- Just had a great service experience with Jon and the rest of the Irvine Auto Care team.

I called yesterday to schedule service on a 2011 Lexus IS250. It was already afternoon so they didn't have any same-day openings, but I wasn't in a rush so I didn't mind waiting until the next day for morning drop off.

I was greeted immediately by John and he is extremely knowledgeable and let me know exactly what to expect. 8am drop-off, 10:30am follow up with updates on the vehicle, and finally 2:45pm car is ready for pickup, they close at 5pm so no rush. Simple and easy.

Am updating my review upwards to 3 stars. This is because the owner reached out to me twice and explained some of the services that were done.

One of these clarifications was that the fuel system cleaning was more than a flush (induction/ throttle body clean). I understand it a little better now but am still unsure if it was really required.

My car has been running fine since the visit and I have no complaints against the workmanship. 1 Star: This place recommended 'several' unnecessary maintenance items on my 12 year Accord that was running just fine. A fuel system 'flush' was done where infact a fuel system 'cleaning' was described. I realize now that both these items are anyway a waste of money especially when nothing is wrong with your car.

A tuneup - spark plug change, air conditioning filters and windshield wipers were also recommended. All I went in for is an oil change/ rotation and some of these additional parts were replaced at the appropriate schedules already.

Another example of how these guys are just out to over-charge you is currently displayed on my window: the next recommended oil change per these guys is 3000 miles. That is simply unnecessary for most modern vehicles, please review your owners manual ( my 05' Accord for example has a 5000 to 10,000 mile interval).

And finally at the risk of sounding petty, they did not call me when the car was ready to be picked up and when I showed up Mr.Front Desk acted like he was seeing me for the first time.

They may not be the only establishment with these practices, but please carefully scrutinize all the extras that are being tacked...

I have been used to taking whatever vehicle I have, to the dealership for repairs, maintenance and upkeep.  I have done this for years.

However the most recent experiences I have had at a local dealership were very disappointing and so I started to look around for another source for my vehicles.

Several neighbors suggested Irvine Auto Care and I tried them out.

I highly recommend them. They are a game changer.

They do a full inspection with video.Send it to your phone with a link.You view what they are seeing and what they are suggesting.   They break down the work to be done as very important to get done now, as well as suggested timelines for whatever work you want to put off for a little while for your budget or time constraints.

If you bring in a work order from your regular place and ask them to do the inspection they will do it and compare what they suggest versus whatever your dealership might be trying to oversell.

They are honest and careful. Respectful and easy to make appointments with. I've had several visits now and now I am a fan!
