I've used Murphey the Jeweler before for engraving. I needed a special key chain disk engraved for my grandson, who's graduation party was on Friday, May 18th. It was too late to get it done by then, but they PROMISED it would be done the next Thursday, a day before his graduation. They didn't call me Thursday, so I called Friday morning and was told that the lady in the back (Ginger?) got mixed up & thought I didn't need it until the NEXT Tuesday, after the graduation. My copy and their original of the claim check specifically said "RUSH, LATEST 05/24". I asked how that happened & she didn't know. I asked why they couldn't work it in Friday the 25th, and she said the engraver went out of town but would be in Saturday morning (after the graduation) and would do it sometime that morning. I had no choice in the situation. I picked it up Saturday, and of course the ones making the mistake were not there. AND, the script was done wrong. The claim check specifically stated I wanted BLOCK style, and it wasn't done. The lady that was there was very nice and apologized several times for the other lady and the engraver. There is no excuse for this poor service, the incorrect script, and not even any apology from the actual ones that messed everything up. I paid the full price for not getting good service and then even having it engraved incorrectly. I am not a...
Read moreI'm very disappointed with Murphey The Jewler. I purchased a Sterling Silver chain from them. Within a month it broke. I was charged $49 to laser it back together which I am fine with. Within 1 week it broke again. When I took it back they were going to charge me another $49 fee or I could buy a $125 new chain. What ever happened to standing behind your work? How does a consumer know that the laser process was even done correctly and not done in a way that assured another break. The first break was one I which I may have been responsible for even though I have no idea what I may have done. The second time I did ABSOLUTELY nothing. I simply went to adjust it and it was broken. I've lived in Tyler for 28 yrs. and try to do business locally. I will continue to do so but just another jewler....
Read moreWould find different jewelers to fix Rolex watches. They send off - not to Rolex and don’t stand behind the work. Also had a Tiffany necklace repair done with a new knockoff clasp that broke and doesn’t work. Go elsewhere.
First - I never said I left the crown unscrewed. What was said is that I have owned this watch for over 20 years, swimming, diving in and out of water for all those years - no issues. You repair the crown and stem which if not repaired correctly will cause water damage. Confirmed by Rolex and other dealers that represent Rolex. Small Claims Court will ultimately rule on a repair that was not done correctly.
As to the repair on the Tiffany necklace - send...
